bkdk AU where Izuku is a wedding planner. his new client, katsuki is an heir to a multimillion dollar company and wants a big wedding. it's Izuku's first large event and an opportunity to grow his business portfolio except he never expected to fall head over heels for the groom.
#bakucamie at first

the day of their consultation, izuku has a file prepared with samples and pictures to show his new client and his betrothed. he had spoken to katsuki on the phone prior and izuku already had a thing for the man's scruffy voice, despite his grumbly responses.
out of courtesy he opted not to search him or his betrothed online, though his friend mina, who helped him snag this client, told him that katsuki is "rude af but at least hes shitting cash out of his ass" and that his fiance was quite a character herself.
so izuku was worried, about messing it up or saying the wrong thing. but the moment the blond man walked inside his office dressed to the nines in a business suit. Izuku hardly looked at the woman beside him. katsuki was the most gorgeous man he'd ever seen in his life.
izuku stands up and slightly bows as he greets them. his gaze never leaving the man as he and his fiance sit down in front of his desk.

katsuki has a permanent scowl but still nods in acknowledgement. he looks like he didn't even want to be here.
"i'm totes excited to be here, zuku! can I call you zuku? I'm camie!" the woman gives her hand and izuku finally looks her way.

of course a man that looked that good would end up with the brunette model beside him. she was equally beautiful!
"zuku is fine. nice to meet you both." izuku shakes her hand quickly and smiles.

"let's just get this over with." katsuki grumbles beside her, his arms crossed. "the hag wants something extravagant and big." he looks him straight in the eye and then back at camie.
"tell him what you want so we can get this outta the way."

izuku blinks, his lips in a tight line. Mina was right. this guy really does seem rude as fuck... he glances at him before turning his attention towards the brunette.
the blond may be gorgeous but izuku is not going to let his sour attitude get to his head. he needs to make a good impression.

"ugh, don't worry about bakubabe." camie grins, "he hasn't had his coffee today." she whispers the last part and izuku smiles nervously.
"so, what theme are you looking for? have you thought of a venue?" he asks and the brunette pulls out a binder from her purse.

"have I ever!" she laughs, "I've been like totally planning this since like /months!/"
it doesn't go unnoticed by Izuku, the side eye katsuki gives her as she continues to show him magazine clippings from her binder as she rambles about what she likes. izuku writes notes furiously as she talks. throughout the whole ordeal, katsuki didn’t once say a thing.
he spent the entire time on his phone and would occasionally look their way when Izuku talked about pricing. it was hard for Izuku to keep a smile on his face with the bubbly woman in front of him and the brooding figure next to her.
still they signed the contract with him and were gone right after, leaving izuku with a headache.

it wasn't until mins later when Izuku is putting stuff away that katsuki walks in by himself. his face seems more relaxed than it was before he left.

"i need a favor." he says.
izuku looks up at him incredulously, dropping his pen, "what?"

the man runs a hand through his face as he sits down and let's out a long sigh. a complete shift in his earlier demeanor.

"i need this wedding to fucking suck ass."
while Izuku was reaching under his desk for his pen, he tries to sit up abruptly at the odd request and bangs his head under the desk instead.

"ah!" izuku groans, swiveling his chair to the side to sit up completely mortified as he rubs the top of his head.
"what did you say?" izuku asks, brows knitted in pain and shock.

the blond tries to maintain a straight face but his lips purse into a half-smirk until he let's out a snort that tugs at Izuku's heart. he can't even be upset so he blushes instead.

"are you okay?"
"m'fine." izuku mumbles. "but I'm sorry. why are you trying to sabotage your own wedding mr. bakugou?"

"katsuki."

"kat-suki..." izuku repeats shyly.

"i don't want to get married." he answers calmly.

/then don't? stay with me, instead gorgeous./
the thought escapes izuku as he clears his throat, "I don't follow...are you testing me or something?"

"no!" katsuki groans, "are you dense? just do what I ask."

izuku scoffs, "excuse me? you barge into /my/ office asking for a favor and expect me to read your mind?!"
nevermind on the earlier statement. this guy may resemble a rose but he was thornier than a cactus.

katsuki stares at him for a moment and izuku bites his lip.

he fucked up.

but just who the hell did he think he was talking down on him like that?!
as soon as the blond man stands up, izuku winces on instinct, expecting katsuki to lash out but he takes a deep breath instead.

"it's a business partnership." he grumbles, clenching his fists, "the wedding. it's an arrangement to merge our companies."

"/oh./"
"yeah...so work whatever magic you can pull outta your ass to make sure the wedding absolutely bites dick. I'll pay you whatever you want."

"i..." izuku contemplates, this technically is a client request as strange as it was. it's his job to deliver, right?"

"deal?"
"deal, mr. bakugou."

"katsuki."

"katsuki." izuku says it clearer this time.

katsuki digs into his blazer pocket and pulls out his card, "it's my cell. contact me here. obviously DONT tell dumb bit—/camie/ anything."

he places the card on his desk and walks out.

well shit.
izuku looks over his notes and the binder of ideas camie left him.

the brunette wants an outdoor wedding outside of japan. "like ultra/fest or coach/ella and with all the booze." whatever that meant. izuku was just being polite earlier but the theme was rather...tacky.
she had magazine clippings of half naked girls in tutus and bikinis covered in jewelry and paint as reference for the decorations.

she even said, "add your own twist to make it more wedding-like y'know."

/HOW?!/

well, she pretty much ruined her own wedding with this theme...
maybe he could just tweak it to make the wedding absolutely over the top tacky?

how does one sabotage a wedding anyway?! izuku groans to himself.

there goes his portfolio... the richest client he's ever had who could've had the most beautiful
wedding all set up by him with the best florists, caterers, bakers, you name it!

izuku jumps when his work phone rings, as it shakes him from his thoughts. he didn't even recognize the number or the caller ID.

"hello?"

"is this midoriya, izuku?" a female voice asks.
"yes, sorry! this is Wedding For All Consulting."

"no worries! I understand your busy. so I'll cut this short. my name is bakugou, mitsuki."

baku—

"you just had a consult with my son and his fiance? before you get started we need to talk."
izuku straightens up as if the woman was right in front of him. "ms. bakugou! of course. pleasure to meet—at least, by phone, " izuku giggles nervously, "um, what can I help you with?"

"i need you to discard that awful idea my daughter in law provided for the wedding theme."
"sorry?"

"you heard me. that theme is absolutely repulsive! I will /not/ have my son getting married in—whatever the fuck that theme is that she came up with. I love her to death but she's a mess."

izuku laughs again, "it was a bit unorthodox, huh?"
"but, um, what do you want the theme to be? have you discussed this with katsu—um, mr. bakugou?"

"no. they don't know I'm calling you. and you are not to tell them. do I make myself clear?"

izuku nods but realizes the woman can't see him so he mumbles, "c-crystal."
"good. now give me your email and I will send you the theme that I want."

izuku gives her his email and the woman bids her goodbyes leaving izuku with an even worse headache than before and now /anxiety/.

what the hell just happened?!
...

right as Izuku was about to sleep, ms. bakugou sent him a detailed email with references and website links. ending her email with what izuku could only describe as a threat in disguise.

"thank you for all your help, Izuku dear. should this go well, I'll be sure to
refer you to all my colleagues."

that has to be a threat.

fuck this up and she'll ruin him, right?

he's seen plenty of dramas to know that much. and yet, he can't shake off his loyalty towards katsuki and it's not bc he's attracted to him or anything!
though it does help... but more so bc he looked genuinely upset at this whole thing. can one even feel sorry for a rich guy?

and he /has/ to tell him about his mother's meddling... bc technically he has a signed contract with katsuki not his mother...
ugh. this was all so annoying!!

Izuku placed his phone down on his bed and covered himself in his blanket. if he's lucky, maybe he won't wake up tomorrow.

and just as he was about to finally clear his head and doze off. Mina calls him, jolting him awake.
"hello?" izuku murmurs.

"midobro! how'd it go?! he's an ass right? gotta love that guy!" she laughs to herself.

Izuku groans, sitting up at the cheery voice on the other line.

"Mina... do you have a personal vendetta against me? I—did I ever wronged you somehow?!"
"oh, no. that bad, huh?! I told that fucker to go easy on you..." Mina tisks.

Izuku sighs out loud, "it's not his fault—it's just..."

he ponders for a moment. should he tell Mina what katsuki said about ruining his own wedding or ms. bakugou's threat?
"how do you even know a guy like that anyway?" he asks instead.

"ei works for him! i actually met him recently too, were having a double date with him and his fiance and they mentioned that they were thinking of finally tying the knot...
can you believe they've been engaged for three years?! I could never—anyway, I offered your services and bragged about how great you were!"

"three years?!"

"right?! it's weird. wouldn't you want to marry right away if you're in love? I'd kill ei if he made me wait that long!"
it made sense to izuku, though. katsuki doesn't want to get married. izuku guesses the one urging him to tie the knot was his mother and she's the one probably calling all the shots too.

"thank you, mina. for thinking of me."

"pfft, we're buds. don't mention it!"
izuku says his goodbyes and lays back down.

no one should make you do something you don't want to! it doesn't matter if they're your family! the rich blond probably had nothing for Izuku to feel towards to but right now, he felt sorry for him.
curse his good natured heart. as much as Izuku worried about the future of his business and the possibility of /that/ woman ruining it—no. he was going to help katsuki no matter what.

screw it!

he can do this!
the next morning...

"kitty-chan, I can't do this." izuku groans, stirring his morning coffee as he looked at his orange tabby perched on the counter, it nuzzles against his hand and purrs.

"should I do this?" izuku asks him and his ear twitches in response.
"you're right. I was so sure yesterday. I shouldn't back down now." izuku says softly as he takes a sip of his coffee and then exhales.

"if only mom was here, I'm sure she'd give me the best advice..." izuku glances at the picture of his mother at the small altar in his
living room.

she'd probably tell him to follow his gut or something like that.

/izuku, what's wrong with you?! are you not going to help that poor—er, rich man?! his mother should be ashamed to force his son to do something like that!/
izuku smiles to himself. that's exactly what mama inko would say.

"thanks, mama." he looks over at her picture again.

he places his coffee mug down and runs to his room for his phone. his hands shake as he scrolls down his contacts for katsuki's number.
his thumb hovers over the call button as he takes a deep breath.

he presses the button and it rings a few times.

"this is katsuki."

izuku looks at the phone for a moment before placing it over his ear.

"hello?"

"yeah?"

"bakugou, sir, it-it's izuku."

"I'll call you back."
the line ends and izuku stares dumbly.

how rude! he didn't even greet him back—

Izuku's phone rings in his hand scaring him. katsuki was calling back.

"hello?"

"my bad, I was with...company."

"it's okay." izuku put his best game face and customer service voice in full use.
"I was calling you bc I'd like to have a meeting to discuss the details of your wedding, /in private/, if you don't mind. I'm available to meet up today if you have time."
the man on the other line laughs out loud like izuku just said the funniest joke and izuku checks the caller ID to make sure he called the right number.

after the blond calms he says, "I'm actually free for lunch this afternoon. you called me right on time."
"great, would you like to come by my office?"

cw: guns / gun range (?)
.
.

"hell no. I've got a better idea. tell me, nerd. do you have a problem with guns?"

"I'm sorry, what?!“
"I'm pissed as hell today and going to the gun range is the only thing that calms me down. what do you say?"

"i—um, sure."

"cool. i'll pick you up at your office at 12."

...

"so the hag called you, huh?"
katsuki asks before slipping a headset over his head and handing izuku a pair.

they were in a warehouse-style building, izuku had never seen before.

much less, a gun. for a brief moment, he even wonders if katsuki was a yakuza. it would make sense considering
katsuki's fortune, though, Dynamight Industries was a legit corp. izuku checked.

izuku's eyes dart from the headset to the pistol on the bar. they were in their own stall. a paper dummy hanging several feet away from the bar that separated them from the shooting area.
katsuki sighs at Izuku's lack of response as he slips the headset on Izuku's head himself and Izuku's embarrassed at the nervous squeak he let's out.

"can you hear me?" katsuki's voice echoes from the headset and izuku nods.
"so what did the hag want?" katsuki asks again, holding the pistol in his grasp.

Izuku winces on instinct at the shot katsuki fires, he acknowledges the way he holds onto the gun, with one hand while the other keeps his aim steady by the hilt.
the blond looked straight out of a spy movie, with his business casual attire, a black suit and white button-down shirt, with a bulletproof vest pulled over his large frame.

looking at himself, the vest fit big and clashed with his brown slacks and argyle sweatervest.
"oh, um, just that she didn't like," *bang*
"miss camie's wedding theme and," *bang*
"wanted to change it without either of you knowing until the last minute." Izuku's finishes.
*bang, bang, bang*

katsuki curses under his breath as he reloads his pistol in amazing speed.
"what a meddling bitch." he says loudly and izuku gapes at him.

"please don't tell her I told you...at-at least not yet!" *bang*

"she mentioned something about telling all her friends about my business to bring me more revenue
but it sounded more like a threat to me..." izuku mutters, twiddling his thumbs.

"it is a threat. believe me." katsuki fires the gun again and turns to smirk at him, "but maybe this could work in our favor..."

izuku meets his gaze, "how?"
katsuki switches the safety on his weapon and sets it and his headset down on the bar and izuku does the same.

the blond nearly jumps to Izuku's side to place a heavy arm over his shoulder and izuku tenses up at the proximity, "well, deku, you're going to be my double agent."
deku? Izuku's brows knit as the blond looks at him with a grin and a squeeze of his shoulder like they're the best of friends, even though they just met yesterday.

not to mention, yesterday he seemed like he had a stick up his ass.
was this even the same grumpy man from before?! should he be scared?

handsome or not...he does have a weapon...

looking at katsuki closely, he was slightly taller and didn't have a blemish or a hair out of place on him and izuku bit back the squeeze of his poor gay heart.
he shrugs him off, mentally shaking off the flutters to more important matters at hand.

"what do you need me to?" izuku raises an eyebrow at him.

"tell the hag what she wants to hear. pretend you're on her side. fake it or whatever, make it seem you're going through
with her preparations. you'll get her off my back for a bit and we'll continue that disgusting theme." katsuki upper lip scowls," I'm thinking bubbles, smoke machines, confetti and loud obnoxious American pop music, the more explicit the better."
izuku makes a sour face at katsuki's request and katsuki laughs, boisterously.

"exactly. it's horrible! make sure the food is cold too—oh, the venue!! I know bumb bit—/camie/ wants it outdoors but I was thinking a nice hotel?"

"a hotel?? but kat—"
katsuki places a finger to Izuku's lips that makes him pout against his digit.

"shh, I'll take care of it and I'll pay you to get the hag off my back, okay?" he drawls, his finger still on his mouth and izuku can only slightly nod in response.
"y'know, you're kinda cute with your mouth shut." katsuki smirks and izuku shoves his hand away, completely flushed.

/c-cute?/ a straight man...just called him cute wha—izuku shakes his head.

/focus, izuku. he clearly just made fun of you./
"what a rude remark for someone asking for my help." izuku bites back, crossing his arms.

"pfft, I'm paying you! what more do you need? m'not gonna fucking beg." katsuki responds with a curious look.

"I'm a wedding planner, not—whatever you have me doing..." izuku frowns.
"and, I at least want some damn respect. also, my name is izuku! i-zu-ku! not /deku/!" izuku says defensively.

client or not, katsuki should respect him for all the crap he's putting him through. not to mention the impending doom of his business.

katsuki barks out a laugh.
"mr. wedding planner has balls! I knew I'd like you. fine. done." katsuki says smugly.

"thanks." izuku fake coughs, trying to hide his flush.

"so, we schemin' business partners or what?" katsuki puts his hand out and izuku humors him.

"partners." he shakes his hand.
"now this is a partnership I can get behind on." katsuki flashes him a lopsided grin.

"I think you've had too much coffee this morning," izuku mutters under his breath.

"coffee, bourbon, same shit." katsuki shrugs, "now, let's get the hell out of here. I'm fucking starving."
