the way wakui emphasizes that kokonui has always been together and their farewell is them genuinely trying to see if they can live without each other
kokonui& #39;s relationship has always had the possibility to crash and burn, with the way koko looks at inupi and sees what could have been with akane

nd inupi looking at koko nd seeing all that he& #39;s worth, the reason why he& #39;s alive is to protect and give back to koko
the way their relationship started from flames. it must hurt koko, at first to even look at inupi, because yes he saved his best friend but lost the girl he was in love with. the moments koko feels happy with inupi, gives him the thought of what could have been with akane.
how inupi thinks that he /should/ have died and not akane, the only reason why he didn& #39;t was koko thought he was /her/. he dresses the way he does so when koko looks at him, he might see her because that& #39;s all he ever was, a replacement to who should have been saved that night.
but it& #39;s clearly seen that as the years go by koko falls for inupi who isn& #39;t akane, the lost little boy who& #39;s trying to fight the world, the boy who& #39;d do anything for him, the boy who was his best friend and partner for years. but he& #39;s also the inupi who was akane& #39;s brother.
these panels because koko KNOWS it& #39;s inupi, because even though they& #39;re siblings, seishu& #39;s seishu regardless. nd the split decision he made to kiss him shows he /does/ like
that& #39;s where everything gets confusing because is he in love with inupi or is he in love with him because he& #39;s what& #39;s left of the fantasy that was his sister.

how koko finally let& #39;s akane go in this panel, because all through the years it always been seishu with him.
when koko finally lets her go it& #39;s already too late, they& #39;re enemies with the space of the poles between them. they& #39;re enemies fighting for two different things
a catalyst in them saying farewell is how koko saw inupi with toman. he stayed with inupi not only bc of akane but how he was always the type to stick with something familiar even when it& #39;s bad.

but with toman, he& #39;s finally growing and fighting for something he believes in.
sighs the way koko tells inupi to not stray in the wrong path because he& #39;s going on his own way.

but the fact koko& #39;s in jp& #39;s worst gang shows that it wasn& #39;t him keeping inupi afloat but it was inupi who was keeping koko from straying.
throughout the manga we can see that inupi has the biggest heart and that he wants to be happy with the people he loves. how can koko NOT fall in love with him
the way it took them a while to really leave because it& #39;s not just /goodbye/ it& #39;s both of them trying to let go of each other.

they& #39;ve always been together and now it& #39;s not. all the realizations that they could have been something beautiful together but the timing is wrong.
kokonui was always meant to crash and burn but they were also meant to be together.

inupi& #39;s saying thank you because all that he is was because of him. koko& #39;s thanking him because inupi& #39;s the reason he has a purpose in life bc inupi wants and sees him and not some money monger
the way their farewell chapter is called it& #39;s been real because l, what they feel for each other is real but it& #39;s farewell for now because they need to know to live for themselves.

but i know koko and inupi will be fine bc they& #39;re always meant to find themselves back together.
