in honor of #InternationalWomensDay let’s talk about little mix’s battle again sexism: a thread
little mix has been thriving for almost a decade despite being a gg. thru years they delivered good music with empowering lyrics. but during lm5 era they addressed women issues in a different way than usual: that’s when they dropped ' #WomansWorld'
since then they kept talking about women’s issues in the music industry, and one album later they released a song 'not a pop song' addressing as they’re perceived in the music industry, exposing their former label
not only involved in the messages shared in their music, little mix promote also promotes feminism during tours and on social networks
being crowned "women of the year" and "biggest gg of the decade" is honorable and well deserved but little mix achieved all of these with sweat and tears, despite being shit down. being a woman in the industry is hard, but being a gg in the industry is way harder
it’s been almost a decade and little mix still faces backlash. nothing related to their music most of the time but their outfits, topics addressed during interviews etc...you can do you researches: everytime little mix performs on a big show, it’s about every but music
let’s quickly bring the sotme topic too: whether it’s cool or not, don’t you find it concerning that women are dragged when they sing about their exes but men don’t?!
back to #InternationalWomensDay and especially #WomansWorld this song holds an importante place in my heart, more cause this song was written based on the 'me too' movement
whatever happens little mix won’t give up, and those who tried to tear em down will be exposed (columbia i’m watching you fr). at the end of the day they’re still on top even since day one nobody bet on them. that’s on being a fighter
here we are talking about little mix, but they’re not the only ones. there are many artists being the victims of their label, fighting for their rights and not able to be heard. as non stans we might have judged them before but you can help by sharing their story. happy #IWD2021
