1. “Mac and Riley are siblings”
Firstly, Jack was a father-figure to Riley.
Secondly, Jack was a friend to Mac.
Even if Jack had been a father-figure to Mac, MacRiley still aren’t biologically related and never grew up together. It’s 2 people who met through a mutual friend.

It’s been made clear that outside relationships don’t work because of secrets and danger they can put their partner in.

Where, literally where? The minute Riley found out about Bozer’s feelings she told him she only seen him as a friend. She never led him on, never led him to believe there was a chance.
