THREAD: Like a pauper in Harrods or the Irish at Pontins, I put it to you that Rotherham United are simply not welcome in the Championship. Watch these recent refereeing decisions (all in 2021) and make up your own minds. They do not want us here.
#RUFC
1) It’s 0-0 against Wayne Rooney’s Derby. Already on a yellow card, Derby’s Krystian Bielik commits this cynical foul. The referee decides not to give a second yellow, letting Rooney sub Bielik off moments later instead. Thankfully we still go on to win 0-1.
#RUFC
2) It’s 0-0 at Middlesbrough, and Rotherham’s Matt Crooks is denied a goalscoring opportunity by the last man. Penalty and red card? Neither, says the referee. In fact he gives a foul AGAINST Crooks. Thankfully we go on to win 0-3 anyway.
#RUFC
3. Knee-high studs up challenge from Swansea’s Andre Ayew at 0-0. The ref clearly sees it because he....decides to just book Ayew. Then on a booking, the ref lets him off for an elbow in the head moments later. Ayew goes on to be instrumental in Swansea’s 1-3 win.
#RUFC
4) Millers keeper Viktor Johansson is lucky not to lose an eye as Preston’s Ched Evans goes in studs up on his face 3 years after the ball is gone. Just a yellow, decides the ref.
#RUFC
5) Keepers get too much protection, you say? Not Rotherham’s! In the same game, Ched Evans jumps into and puts his arm across Viktor Johansson. Legitimate goal, decides the ref. Thankfully Rotherham go on to win 1-2.
#RUFC
6) It’s 0-0 against Cardiff, and this happens. An absolute stonewall pen, right? Wrong! Play-on says the ref.

7) Same game, surely after not giving the first one, the ref will give this one? Nope! Rotherham go on to lose 1-2.
#RUFC https://twitter.com/San_Pers/status/1359248615261278211
8) It’s Bournemouth v Rotherham, and the ref is from Bournemouth! Not even joking. Bournemouth have won all 8 previous times Keith Stroud has reffed them, 7 with clean sheets. Bournemouth win 1-0, and I remain annoyed I didn’t bet my life savings on it.
#RUFC
9) Rotherham take the lead at table-toppers Norwich...NOPE. The ref finds a way to disallow this one. Norwich go on to win 1-0.
#RUFC
10) Nottm Forest’s Anthony Knockaert lashes out and punches Wes Harding. Is he sent off? Is he fuuuucccckkkkkk
#RUFC
11) Rotherham lose 0-1 to Nottm Forest. Was the winning goal offside? Of course it was! But only twice to be fair.
#RUFC
12) Rotherham lose 0-1 to Reading. Was the winning goal offside? Of course it was!
#RUFC
13) The Millers are 0-1 up in the crunch 6 pointer vs the Pigs. Guess who gets sent off here - the bloke who shoves his elbow into the oppos face, or the bloke with the ripped shirt who doesn’t react fondly to said elbow in face? You guessed it!! Thankfully we win 1-2.

As of 4th March, that’s just 2 month’s worth of big decisions going against us. There’s even more from the first half of the season (the Swansea handball, the pen at Birmingham etc).
I’ll bet my bottom dollar I’ll be adding to this list in the next few months. Over and out #RUFC
Currently wondering how they’ll get us if we continue to overcome these decisions on the pitch. Maybe they’ll deduct points off us for not ticking the right box on a transfer form. Or just give Wednesday the other 6 points back. Look forward to finding out
We’re back after the international break but it’s business as usual. At 0-0, this happens. Did Rotherham get given the stonewall penalty? Did we fuuuucccckkkk. Rotherham go on to lose 1-0 with 10 men. Later that evening, relegation rivals Birmingham are gifted 2 soft penalties https://twitter.com/San_Pers/status/1378014659253567493
Huddersfield v Rotherham. It’s 0-0 with 20 minutes left, and Richard Wood gets pushed in the back as he readies to shoot in the 6 yard box. Do we get the pen? You know the answer by now. The game finishes 0-0.
#RUFC
COVID issues means there are no spare midweek games to face relegation rivals Coventry. Is common-sense used and the game played over the international break, as only one player from each team is away? Is it played on a Thursday after both sides have played Tuesday? Of course not
Rotherham are forced to play a well-rested Coventry just 48 hours after playing Tuesday vs QPR, meaning RUFC play 4 times in 9 days, culminating in facing another relegation rival Birmingham just 61 hours after the Coventry game. A fatigued Rotherham lose both crunch games 0-1.
Rotherham are 1-0 up against Middlesboro. In the 18th minute there’s a nasty clash of heads as Matt Crooks’ eyes remain on the ball throughout. Darren Bond (featured further up this thread vs SWFC) shocks everyone by pulling out a red card. #RUFC go on to lose 1-2. https://twitter.com/skysports/status/1384924787575824386
Same game, Rotherham are 1-0 up and Middlesbrough equalise from a quick corner taken when the ball is rolling. Am I arsed? No, it doesn’t matter. Is it another example of a decision against #RUFC that VAR would have have ruled out? Yes. In the thread you go. https://twitter.com/skysports/status/1384926728708100101
