Hardest opponent faced was Tottenham, first time we’d faced two teams out of the top 6 in one cup comp under LVG or Mourinho.
Here’s our UCL run under Josè Mourinho 17/18.

Finished first in the Group Stage that consisted of Basel, CSKA Moscow and Benfica.
In the K/O stages we faced

Absolute failure... should’ve progressed.
Now we move onto the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer era. 2018 - ongoing.

Reading 2-0✅
Arsenal 3-1✅
Chelsea 2-0✅
Wolves 1-2❌

Yes we should’ve progressed. But (tweet below)
Ole faces two of the PL’s top 6 in a single cup run for the first time matching the tally of the entire Josè & LVG tenure just two months in the job.... 4 years and only faced two of the PL’s top 6 once between LVG and Mourinho.
Here’s our UCL run under Josè
18/19

Finished second in a group that consisted of Juventus, Valencia and Young Boys.

Not bad, finished where expected for the GS, relatively easy group.
The UCL K/O stages under OGS 18/19.

PSG 3-3 on away goals ✅
Barcelona 4-0 on agg❌

furthest we had made it in the UCL under any of the three managers. (OGS, LVG, Josè)

Rochdale 1-1 (5-3 on pens) ✅
Chelsea 1-2 ✅

Ole in 1 year had now faced 2 of the “top 6” in a single cup run twice compared to what LVG and Josè did in 4 years combined..

Our FA Cup run under OGS. 20/21 (so far)

Watford 1-0✅
Liverpool 3-2✅
West Ham 1-0 a.e.t✅

What. A. Joke. That’s two of the current top 4 at the time of speaking and Liverpool who were Premier League champions just last season....
Our league cup run under OGS. 20/21.

Luton Town 3-0✅
Brighton 3-0✅
Everton 3-0✅
Manchester City 0-2❌

Another joke, first three games away from home, and lost to a team who are currently on one of the longest win runs in history. This is what Ole is up against.
Our UCL run under OGS. 20/21.

We finished third in a group that consisted of RB Leipzig, PSG, and Istanbul Basaksehir.

In a literal group of death with the UCL finalists and semi finalists of last season.
Our Europa League K/O phase opponents under OGS after being eliminated from UCL. 20/21.

Real Soceidad 4-0 ✅
AC Milan TBC..

Drew 5th best team in Spain currently and 2nd best in Italy.. I will be revisiting this at the end of the season.
Comparing the draws of all of our managers Ole has been drawn by far the most difficult fixtures out of any manager we’ve had post SAF. Give him his team and he’s more than capable of winning, the evidence is what he’s doing with this limited side.
Getting a lot of people confused with the reasoning to this thread, reason as to why I did it is people wonder why Ole doesn’t have a trophy to show for in the first two years compared to Mourinho and LVG. This thread looks into that. It’s not to discredit LVG or Mourinho.
Ole has to rebuild the biggest club in England and one of the biggest in the world whilst handling an impatient fan base and an impatient board, he had to rebuild the club essentially, thats shown by his team selection last season (one of the youngest teams ITL on avg age)
with backing, it should be fairly obvious what we could achieve with him as manager. We’re gradually getting better and he’s overachieving with a limited team. What’s the issue. I can’t see it personally until he has a strong and balanced XI and is underachieving.
