Koharu& #39;s growth in Journeys, a thread.

So, if you haven& #39;t noticed already, Koharu now has a mentor in the form of Kikuna.

An interesting point to note here is how long she& #39;s admired her before she admits she wants to be like her.

Cause there& #39;s literally no previous episode that suggested this was coming.
My point is that there was an initial build toward Koharu being undecided like Eevee.
But now, there& #39;s an episode about her and Kikuna, she sees her working, spends some time with her & all of a sudden she talks about wanting to become like her, making her choice pretty quick.
I believe we should have seen a lot more of her & Kikuna prior to this episode and No, before you say the Eating contest one, I& #39;m going to stop your right there, that was intended more for comic relief & barely had any connection to this one.
I& #39;m talking about episodes that involve Kikuna & Koharu that eventually build up to her finally telling Kikuna she wants to be just like her.

See, in Serena& #39;s case that build was near perfect,
We first got a glimpse of who Aria was via Pokévision, being shown off as a-
Famous Pokémon trainer with Fennekin on Pokévision, whose video is shown to be ranked no. 1 then.

Serena already is shown to admire her & hence decides to make a Pokévision of her own.

Then Aria& #39;s mentioned at Summer Camp by Shauna where
She tells Serena about Pokémon performing & Performance showcases with how Aria is Kalos queen.

This seems to build Aria even more as this elite Pokémon Performer, the best in Kalos, this really amazing person who Serena admires & really looks up to.
After which finally there& #39;s an episode involving Serena & Shauna watching Aria& #39;s exhibition performance, post which Serena makes up her mind to become a Performer like Aria.
Mind you she doesn& #39;t say Kalos Queen,
She says Performer like Aria.

So, Where was Kikuna for Koharu?
And her wanting to do that & in order to do so meant becoming Kalos queen, people tend to get confused between the two.

Plus there was even the Ariana episode where she gave advice to her at a time where Serena was feeling helpless & down.

If not for Aria then, who knows
what& #39;d happen.

Her role in Serena& #39;s growth was unmistakably crucial.

Koharu looks up to Kikuna now, but where was the build-up like in Serena& #39;s case with Aria?
Where was the screentime that needed to lead up to Koharu& #39;s gradual decision making, that led to her idolizing Kikuna?
Still, that hasn& #39;t stopped her from growing on her own, as well as with Ash & Goh by her side.

It& #39;s theirs as well as Eevee& #39;s influence that has enabled her to open up toward Pokémon & overall, life in the Pokémon world in general.
