I wish there was a way to effectively gauge and compare the feelings of Australians vs the feelings of Americans towards Britain.

One inhabited by the descendants of those who were unwillingly torn from their homeland, the other by those who deliberately fought to separate.
damn, how do I get someone to talk about this with me

are there any books? I can think of a few people on this app who'd be good to talk to but they're american and don't seem to give a shit
eigen I'm specifically referencing but not tagging you

probs some others too

is this idea boring to everyone except me?
this seems extremely relevant https://twitter.com/pervexists69/status/1365564758712217603?s=20
I wonder if the relative harshness of the landscape plays into it. Perhaps Brits moving to Australia had a harder time both physically and emotionally than those moving to North America in part because the landscape is far less _____ (familiar? accommodating? welcoming?) in Aus
perhaps that made it easier to adapt spiritually to a new landscape?
something's not quite right about this idea though
