I don't like "gender identity" as it's a myth, which is dangerous to children, as it reinforces their already simplistic view of what a man/woman is. However children and teenagers who experience issues with transsexuality are always going to be here. 1/6
If professionals shouldn't be talking about "gender identity" then what should they talk about? That's AGP/HSTS. I see much criticising gender identity, yet little understanding of how we should actually be providing an alternative, which is also the truth. 2/6
I don't agree with AGPs using women's facilities, however do think AGP is mischaracterised by people using solely its worst examples, and misattributed qualities it doesn't have. Horrible AGPs exist, but there's nothing inherent in AGP that makes you this way. 3/6
I'd like policymakers and charities to work on the basis of AGP/HSTS, not "gender identity". However while AGP is synonymous with "pervert, mysogynist, fetishist" rather than "13 year old boy who is confused about sexuality and has gender dysphoria" (like I was) or 4/6
"something that needs to be held to the standards of safe, sane and consensual sexuality" it's an uphill struggle. Charities and policymakers have to deal with real people: not AGP caricatures assembled on the internet to express shared disgust. 5/6
If AGP remains solely as these caracatures, then I don't think charities or policymakers are going to pick up HSTS/AGP any time soon, and "gender identity" will continue to fill that vacuum. 6/6
