1/25 Can powerful magic be accomplished using something as innocent and simple as a tealight candle? Absolutely!
2/25 I am going to walk you through using Tealight candles for devotionals, sigils, protective magic, atmosphere enchanting, influence, road opening & even cursing and hexing.
3/25 I adore tealights as they are really affordable, can be easily engraved or carved into, and can be purchased on Amazon or in practically any town around the world.

Additional materia can be used if it’s available.
4/25 I'm a shameless lunatic for @Kaitlin_Coppock (Sphere and Sundry) and @bpal (Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab) but if you don't have access to these that’s perfectly fine. You can use kitchen herbs, oils of various types or nothing at all.

Don't stress over it.
5/25 Anytime I talk about using Candle Magic in either spell work or devotional practices, I get asked about the time and expense involved. People are busy and lives are hectic so adding something elaborate into the mix is often undesirable.
6/25 Also, there is often an issue of privacy, shortage of space, and other issues of concern.

This is the process I use every day and it can be very easily adapted for any situation and even used in plain sight if wanted.
7/25 Before we begin, please allow me to share how “I” view constructing a spell; its various components, and aspects.

- Objective of Spell (What is the overall purpose of the spell? Enchantment, Hex Breaking, Blessing, Abundance, Love?
8/25 Knowing this will assist in choosing dressing, herbs and such)

- Object/Situation/Person to be acted upon (Are you changing your life, someone else, an environment?) This is important as it helps you define the boundaries of your spell work.
9/25 - Desired Resulting Action (The specific outcome. Meaning, if the overall objective is Enchantment, and the Object to be acted upon is a boss, the desired resulting action might be ‘They start to treat me with favor and preference)
10/25 - Source of power for the spell (Spells need sources of power. This is often the materia used but also 'You' can be the source of power; as can patron saints, ancestors, etc)

- Release of spell (How the spell energy is released.
11/25 In the case of this particular magic practice, its the burning of the candle and your connection with the candle itself)

So, for this thread, I am going to use an example based on what I do for daily devotional work.
12/25 Step 1: Objective, Object, and Desired Outcome of Spell: Active connection and deepening of my relationship with my ancestors. 'I' am the object and the desired outcome is a conscious awareness of my ancestor’s presence in my life.
13/25 Next, I set my tealight candle out and before I do anything, I get clear and centred with my intention. I just observe the candle and relax using slow, steady breathing. Understand that you are about to work magic in your life.
14/25 Step 2a: On the back of my tealight I have 4 dots. You may not have these. What I do, in THIS instance, is I see those 4 dots as being the 4 elements (Fire, Air, Water and Earth).
15/25 Using a cheap clay engraving tool I connect the 4 dots to symbolize the Square/Cube of creation and material realm. In a moment we will draw a sigil or symbol inside of the square which is highly symbolic of your desire manifesting in the material world.
16/25 Step 2b: If my desire was instead for new opportunities, or life changes or road opening, I would carve a Cross instead; representing Crossroads and stepping from one life into another. While carving, stay focused. Don’t do this mindlessly.
17/25 Hold your intention in your heart while carving.

Step 3: with the center of the Square/4 elements you can carve a sigil or symbol or you can even write words, people’s names, locations, pets...anything to add clarity to the spell.
18/25 When I am using this for devotional purposes I will often write ‘Ancestors’ or ‘Saint Cyprian’ or ‘Regulus’ etc.

Step 4: If you want to add materia to your working then you can. Again, you don’t have to but it does amp things up.
19/25 I will anoint the tip of my finger with the materia and circle the wax with a thin coating.

WARNING: Many herbs and oils are flammable so be careful when using them and never leave a burning candle unattended.

Again, While dressing your candle, stay focused.
20/25 Don’t do this mindlessly. Hold your intention in your mind and heart while anointing or dressing your candle; be present. This is sacred and special and should be treated as such.
21/25 Step 5: Then, when my candle is ready, I hold it in my left hand and put my right hand (or left if your left is dominant) over the candle and speak my intention, pray, use Kata or blessings; whatever appropriate to you.
22/25 I hold it like you might a baby bird and I speak life and my intention into the candle. You are holding a powerful magical tool so act respectfully.

Step 6: I now light my candle and go about my devotion.
23/25 But, I also will light a candle like this and leave it next to me while I work, to charge the atmosphere around me. I use these during meetings, or recording sessions, or whatever else.
24/25 If you are seeing someone and would love to add some real electricity to your intimate encounters, create a group of tealights in this fashion, anoint with fiery or passion stoking materia and burn them during your time together.
25/25 Just remember, this is now a powerful magical tool, you have countless options for how to use this.

Use it well
Peace and Love
