so you wanna be a keqing main

— an ongoing thread on my weapons, builds, possible team comps, tips, and other stuff about our best girl.

— i'm basing this on my own experiences in using her. there's no 100% right or wrong ways to build / use her, this aint a math exam ^-^
— this is an ongoing thread — if i see more things to add, i will add.
— feel free to reply / qrt on the thread!

keqing is fast and versatile. you can maximise her skills in 2 ways — electro or physical.

please build her according to your preferred playstyle and your available resources!

my current keqing is electro dps keqing, these are her stats!

the most important stat for her is crit. she'll hurt tons if you raise her crit rate / damage up to a high level. she also naturally scales with crit damage.

my current sword on her is the battle pass' black sword. it basically:
— adds crit rate stat
— heals you for a percentage of your health

it's a well-rounded weapon and one of the best for her. i personally like it. its good if youre building physical dps too.

flute is good on her too and she'd gain so much from the extra attack% substat. it helps deal damage, but you need extra crit rate stats to help make each damage hurt a bit more.

is flute better than black sword?
— theyre both good. i like both. :)

for electro keqing, lion's roar is good for her bc of its passive. it also adds onto her attack.... but it's only effective if she's mainly dealing electro damage.

.... i'll try this sword out tonight to see if it does wonders.

is festering desire / dragonspine event sword good?
— this sword will instantly charge your ult if you've unlocked passive 2.
— i got my 55k crit overload elemental skill damage using this sword :) i dont see why you wouldnt use this.

for physical keqing, aquila is so good on her.
— it scales with physical damage and makes your basic attacks hurt more
— the added passive is a neat aoe :)
— you can use it for electro keqing too! but its personally best for physical keqing :)

rancour is alright too. it's free (you basically get it at AR 20) and has a high base attack stat. though, it works for physical keqing more.

can i use any of the new swords?
— highly don't see why not. mixing and matching is the way and please accommodate to see what's best.

electro dps keqing generally has these builds:
— 2 gladiators 2 thundering fury
— 4 thundering fury
— 4 thundersoother

mine is 2 glads 2 thundering fury. i deal consistent damage with this, and it lessens the pain in grinding midsummer's courtyard.

what you want ideally is:
— crit dmg / crit rate circlet (!!!!!)
— electro dmg goblet with crit substats
— atk% sands with crit substats
— flower + feather with crit substats

you can clearly see how obsessed i am with crit substats and having little to none of them in actuality

crit rate OR crit dmg circlet?
— whichever stat youre lacking. i have both but is using the crit rate since i want more crits per hit.

wait hold up lemme go get more screenshots lol

if youre building 4 piece thundering fury,
— make sure you get an elemental mastery sands and interchange that with atk%
— make sure you can do elemental reactions in the team. the 4 piece makes your elemental reactions stronger.

if youre building 4 piece thundersoother,
— never settle for the 2 piece. this set only works well if you have all 4 pieces.
— atk% sands. yes. not elemental mastery.

for physical keqing, the builds are:
— 2 piece bloodstained 2 piece gladiators
— 4 piece gladiators
— ... not sure if theres any other combinations.
— physical damage goblet instead of electro.
— atk% sands. always. atk%.

i have 2 bloodstained and 2 glads for this situation.

can you build noblesse with keqing?
— a crack build! but maybe if you want her ult to hurt alot then i dont see why not.
— 2 noblesse 2 glads, or 2 noblesse 2 thundering fury.

talents can differ according to your preference. this is mine atm.
— physical keqing should prioritize her basic attacks before her skill / ult.
— electro keqing should prioritize her skill / ult before her basic attacks.
— stock on whooperflowers, prosperity and boreas.

for the whales and lucky players

if you're going for constellations — c1, c4 and c6 are great. theyre all wonderful for electro keqing though, since they hugely boost her electro dmg.

team comp revolves on elemental reactions and resonances for keqing.
— electro keqing - overload or electrocharge
— physical keqing - superconduct
— swirl is GREAT for electro cat
— crystalize on double geo support works too
— double pyro is recommended for atk up
— fischl. :)

these are double pyro comps.
— xiangling (best) / amber / d*luc works to help set up overload
— xingqiu / barbs / mona works for the electrocharge option
— sucrose (or venti) swirls for days.

lead in with xiangling or xingqiu for the pyro / hydro setup. ^-^

fischl.
— double electro massively increases your energy recharge for ult spams and she can fit in literally any team comp. shes wonderful, but i havent build her.

physical keqing needs superconduct.
— qiqi is the best pair for her. set up qiqi's skill then switch out to keqing for superconduct goodies.
— the rest of the team doesnt matter. in this case, double cryo works and albedo's flowers help deal extra damage on top of keqing.

double geo?!
— with 1.3 changes to geo, keqing benefits from the crystalize alot. noelle / geo traveller can be good options!
— qiqi / xiangling / xingqiu/mona work here to set up reactions.
— if you have zhongli, use his shield then switch out to keqing to see her shred.

can ganqing / yuqing be in a team together?
— superconduct pastel gfs !!!!
— though, you can alternate the two dps together to deal damage. swirl or double pyro might help in this case.

pretty sure everyone knows this but wooo utilize your skill. you dont need elevators or pillars or venti. just keqing.

you can use your skill as a ranged projectile.
— good for the annoying hydro butterflies near guyun or ruin guard weak points!
— though. your basic attacks arent electro infused.

i do this alot. when you blink, change the direction where youre going so that you can cover more enemies around you instead of hitting whats in front of you.

if you time the blink perfectly and you can dodge literally everything.

when an enemy is about to strike you in close range, press the ult button or the skill button after throwing the stiletto (letting you teleport). time this right and you wont get hit by any damage. you can practice timing this during wolf battles ^-^

adding damage calcs!

lions roar lvl 80 and black sword lvl 80
– lions roar does more electro dmg. skill's last hit is 11-15k on lions vs 7-8k on black sword.
– black sword, though, gives overall dmg coverage. basic attacks are 2-4k vs ~1k with lions.
– black sword heals too.

is jade cutter good for keqing?
— YES.
— mmm. look at that sexc crit rate. all you need to build is just a nice balance of crit rate/dmg if you have this sword
— though... it works well if your substats are mostly HP since it relies on max HP....
