This is a thread to introduce myself to new people. My name is Adam,I am 24,English (unfortunately),Disabled and potentially Autistic. (1/?)
I have Cerebral Palsy, which is a physical disability that limits mobility. For me,this is hemiplegic and affects only my left side, with a limp, aching bones, muscle spasms and fatigue, which can test me a lot. However I have also learned from @NeonCrutches and @Ava_Nicole23 ...(2/?)
...that my Cerebral Palsy is also in part, why tying laces and walking in shoes is difficult... I said potentially autistic, because I am not actually diagnosed yet, I am on the waiting list for a private referral through the NHS and have been for over 3 years... (3/?)
This being said, I do support Self-diagnosis, because of the inaccessibility of resources with regards to Disability http://diagnosis.My  stance will not change, even if I get a diagnosis (4/?)
I have prepared a thread that highlights things you may want to be aware of when conversing with me: https://mobile.twitter.com/ChronicallyAP/status/1361429605601673216 (5/?)
Also something to bear in mind,I am political and make no secret of that fact. (6/?)
As for things you could call hobbies, I enjoy Football/Soccer,I am a Manchester United fan (bring on the boos),I play video games, in particular, I really enjoy the structured nature of the Football Manager games, but I am also impartial to a Tony Hawk's game (7/?)
When I can manage to stay awake, I like to read, anything really from an autobiography to a graphic novel, oh and I enjoy watching movies, my favourite being Goal:The Dream Begins, because football (8/?)
I enjoy listening to music, I am quite varied in what I listen to,whether it's Pendulum, Reverend And The Makers or Keane and I am always looking for more music to listen to (9/?)
Also definitely not a hobby, but as part of the Disability community on here,I can regularly be found supporting Disabled People's rights to equality (which is non-negotiable): https://mobile.twitter.com/ChronicallyAP/status/1353952032898617344 (10/?)
Also I like to support good people doing awesome things, even if things in my life don't go so well, seeing my friends succeed is just awesome (11/11)
One more thing,I would like to kindly ask that no one spout the idea that my mobility could be improved...or the very harmful idea that I must have done something wrong to be Disabled (It's very common for Disabled people to have to deal with this) (12/12)
I want to talk about tweets like this in my thread.: https://mobile.twitter.com/jewelsmariex/status/1365848859767959552
I identify as Disabled,because that's what I am,however despite being aware of my limits,I'd never focus on what I can't do,that's how Non-disabled people perceive us,instead I would rather... (13/13)
...focus on what I can do.For example, I can't swim, but there's no point of me dwelling on that fact when I can utilise my skills in other aspects of life,in fact I hate people who suggest that by identifying as Disabled, I focus on my limitations, they don't understand (14/14)
It can be ok to recognise your limitations, so that you know when to rest and you know not to push yourself, when the entire world wants you to do so.But I can be so much more than my limitations and still identify as Disabled (15/15)
Bigotry of any kind, whether it's racism, sexism ,ableism,etc..is not acceptable and I will call you out on it,if I see it,so bear that in mind.I will not stand for it,because these individuals are our equals (16/16)
