sungjong's mistreatment by woollim, inspirits and knetz | a (sadly) very long thread
Why would I make this now u might wonder? sungjong's mistreatment doesn't get taken seriously and it's annoying. company stans always dismiss what he went through and I want to make a thread to make sure he doesn't get treated like this when he's back (atleast by inspirits)
This thread will contain 3 parts: woollim, inspirits & general public and finally the effect on SJ. Inspirits, don't ask me to delete, because I won't.
PART 1: WOOLLIM

First of all this was ridiculous. He wasn't even allowed to dance in their dorm bc we all know that famous interview where sungyeol says he "caught" sungjong dancing to ggs in the bathroom.
SJ himself loved dancing to them, but he was clearly aware why the company made him stop:

Woollim made sungjong lose A LOT of weight (this became very known to the public during The Eye era) --> more sources in next tweet in thread
SJ stated that the company telling him to lose weight stressed him out. In the third picture you can read how he even had to get IV injections.
Inspirits worried about his weight too, you could clearly see he lost alot.

SJ has stated multiple times that he doesn't have much to do. Sometimes he says it in a joking matter, but it's clear that it bothers him.
In Weekly Idol, SJ revealed that the company made him a "trainee" again, when the hosts asked why he wasn't getting individual schedules like the other Infinite members.
As you can hear/read in the previous video, SJ became highly requested by variety shows after his amazing performances on Knowing Bros and SNL Korea. Woollim, however, denied all requests and didn't let SJ go on these shows.
Woollim didn't let him go to school often.
In 2017 sungjong got in a car accident. Woollim didn't release a statement at all and fans found out bc sungjong was sitting in a chair at an event two days later, instead of dancing with the other members.
Woollim exploiting SJ's mental stress and not offering him professional help at all:
Spring Flowers was a SJ fansite that got blacklisted for saesang behaviour in 2018, when this happened she exposed Woollim and said they gave out private info for money (also exposing herself by posting a transaction that she deleted soon after)
Spring Flowers also complained about how Woollim mistreats SJ and wrote a long letter. (picture below is the English transltion, pls do read), HOWEVER none of this information is completely verified as the truth, so take this with a grain of salt.
Most notable from the previous letter: SF asked Woollim's CEO to let SJ have more individual schedules and his alledged answer was "What can Sungjong do well?"
PART 2: INSPIRITS, KNETZ & THE K-INDUSTRYAs if his own company mistreating him wasn't enough, SJ also had to endure rumours and mistreatment from his own fandom and the general public.
Early in his career people already started whole discussions about how he looks... People went as far as to call it controversies. For the rest of his career ppl would speculate about his appearance and sexuality.
In 2015 there was a rumour that was seen as the truth. While there was not a specific idol mentioned, knetz chose sungjong as their "prime suspect". The rumour got so intense and the comments so mean, that sungjong burst in tears at one of their concerts

He wasnt save at variety shows either, where hosts made him feel uncomfortable about if he was manly enough etc either. Here they literally call him gay on television, which is (let's be honest) very controversial for an idol.
SJ also endured sexual harrassment. he had to play the pepero game with hwangbo while he was 17 y/o and she's twice his age. Then one of the host pushed them together and made them kiss. I know lots of inspirits think this is a funny moment, but it's honestly uncomfortable.
