i stopped arguing w/people w/ regard to police/prison abolition, because it’s v simple: if you want to end “police violence,” you want to abolish the police. if you don’t want to abolish the police, then you don’t actually want to end police violence; even if you ‘think’ you do.

there’s no way around this, everything else has been tried, tried, and tried, again. history proves this. and i’m no longer arguing this fairly basic fact with police/prison preservationists in 2021, i’m sorry i just simply refuse to.

the amount of people who value the illusions of “safety” the carceral state allows over the material lives, well-being, and liberation of the most wretched and superexploited amongst us, all the while masquerading as self-important social justice advocates, is quite disturbing
