We really need to have a conversation about hiring practices in higher ed.

A read.
How are you going to tell me to interview with the entire college town and then offer me a 40k-60k salary?
How are you going to tell me to be communicative, professional, & considerate to my potential employer and not be able to send a simple email stating you’ve ended your search?
How are you going to tell me your salaries are competitive and not display them on the application?
How are you going to tell me you care about diversity, equity inclusion and then hire one person to solve all your issues?
How are you going to tell me you value new perspectives and then put someone through an entire search process only to promote within?
It is just bizarre to me how prehistoric these processes seem. Then we will sit here and wonder why we can’t seemingly hire qualified candidates for roles
