I’m going to address a couple of myths about NYC that I believed before I moved here. (Also these are based on my personal experience so don’t come for me.)
myth: rats everywhere
truth: I have lived here for almost two months and I heave heard 1 rat and seen 0.
myth: smells bad
truth: it honestly depends where you are. I had someone tell me that it smells like piss all the time everywhere and that’s definitely not true. Mostly its subway steam and bad weed that you pass through and then it’s over.
myth: crazy subway people
truth: I know that things happen but every time I’m on the train I just wonder what’s going on in other cars because mine is not usually very interesting.
Just thought I should update this thread and let everyone know that 1. I saw my first rat, 2. A guy stopped next to me on the sidewalk and started peeing into the street, & 3. I watched I guy do LSD on the train at 3 in the afternoon on a Monday.
