i LOVE LOVE LOVE the idea of the predecessors being so intrigued by katsuki, bc Izuku, while overwhelmingly complicated, is also kind of simple in that he has precious people he would die for, and bkg is one of them.

and bc Izuku's love for him is so painfully blatant they can't just sit around and do NOTHING

they try to talk to bkg but he stonewalls them like a pro bc he knows that they're contributing to the terrifying legacy deku's holding

ON TOP OF that i hc the 4th user as not bkg but someone that just look eerily similar. so then 4th tries to talk to deku and bkg is Not Having It

with all the numbers in lieu of names for the preds i'm reminded of future diary and i love it

in any case: i have so many hc's for the preds and bkdk it's not even funny lmao

they recognize that bkg is safe so sometimes when deku's power manifests it seems him out. like just imagine walking up to bkg and there are like 8 blackwhip limbs coming out of his back but then a person side steps away from him and it's just. deku

nana trying to actively pull bkdk into shoujo tropes and failing but then getting frustrated when bkdk manage to do it themselves and STILL DON'T NOTICE

nana when float doesn't work the way she wants it to and deku ends up in a tree instead of in bkg's arms:

i really love this hc both bc Little Brother & Deku are narratively similar, so i see a little bit of themselves in each other, bc i LOVE the reminiscing trope, & bc Little Brother is so stupidly pretty there's no way he didn't have someone who loved him

listen all i've been thinking abt is a slice-of-life style arc that focuses on the preds past lives, who they were, who they loved, how they died. little brother is so FUCKING mysterious i wanna know so much more abt him so bad

little brother trying to talk to deku with no avail bc bkg dragged him off and shaking his head fondly bc he realizes, too, the depth of care bkg has for this boy, and it reminds him of when he was alive and had someone who did the same for him

a sad, lonely world in his thoughts. a brother who's gone mad, an army following after them, a best friend/lover he'll never see again. devastating for little brother who mourns him, mourns his old life, who will do whatever it takes to make sure they can never exist again.

this is a culmination of me reading backslide and listening to Mister Loverman and it SHOWS

but ok listen.....hikaru nara from your lie in april as the mood for the slice-of-life preds arc, bc that song is so deceptively joyous when it's show is so sad

OH MY GOD okay so you know that scene from anastasia?? when she's sleepwalking on the ship? THAT but bkdk

the preds realize that something's wrong when they can't connect to deku, and so they turn to katsuki down the line and wake him up

he searches for deku and ends up finding him teetering on the edge of the stairs, pulls him back which IMMEDIATELY sets deku off, fists flying as he starts to wake up. he's pulled into a crushing hug when he does though, bkg's relief at finding him palpable

—deku reliving/knowing the preds old memories. one day he wakes up with the oddest recollection of talking to an old friend

i push the little brother/bestfriend deku/bkg parallel bc i love the hc sm they remind me of bkdk and i want little brother to have someone to love!!

what i REALLY love though is that bc 2nd knows abt bkdk so he's really just wanting to see them get together. watching this 16 y/o give him the stink eye bc he complimented Izuku is funny though so fucking w bkg becomes A Thing

meanwhile 2nd is absolutely losing it at the look on bkg's face

another hc: that deku gets possessed or his body gets used by the preds, i love love this one so much

bkg walks into class and IMMEDIATELY understands that something isn't right w deku (his perception on people is so stupidly high but more on that later) and later he finds out that it was just little brother and it's so WEIRD

like. it's mind-boggling, how the simplest changes in his expression are able to convey a whole new person. to think that for some point in time, there's someone inside Deku that ISN'T Deku is such maddening concept until it isn't.

bc deku has already internalized so many ideologies band legacies. having it actually come to fruition, having it be an ACTUAL person, feels less of a surprise and more like a next step.

the problem is little brother is so woefully inept at trying to be deku lmfao so he gets katsuki to help him out

"As good as we are," he says, "you're proof that trying to impersonate the boy isn't our forte."

"Yeah," Katsuki snorts. "You suck at that."

"Exactly." His voice is terrifyingly gentle. He places a hand over his chest and asks, "will you help us?"

"It's fine," Katsuki says,

and tries to hide the leap in his throat at the way Deku's face lights up. It's not the same. "I'm already in this deep, yeah? Use the nerd's phone to page me if you wanna reach me."

"Thank you," Little Brother says. It's so genuine that Katsuki almost has a hard time staying

angry. Almost.

"You're mistaken," he says offhandedly. "'S not for you."

"Yes." Little Brother says, smiling a little too conspiratorially. "We know."

now that we know that 1st DID have someone i'm fixated on their relationship. they have bkdk parallels and i like the idea that they knew each other before afo's reign really got into it, so i'm gonna go w the hc of 2nd initially being yoichi's handler/guard before shit went down

oh my god fic idea where afo assigns 2nd to yoichi for protection, in which 2nd's objective is to eliminate ties to afo's power (and yoichi is one of them) but over time he falls in love w him

he doesn't intend on getting to know him. the point of his job is to remain objective, to get deeper intel, to keep inconspicuous at all times, to end AFO. but when he takes in yoichi, he gets ALL of him; his curiousity, his relentlessness, his sheltered life with his brother.

his quirklessness, his obstinacy, all of it which belies his kindness, his terrifying magnitude for benevolence no matter what. this man would cross the interstate if it meant saving a puppy and that kind of recklessness scares 2nd more than he likes to admit, so

2nd decides to help him. train him. and if that means taking yoichi outside the secluded life his brother intended for him, if that means introducing him to new sights and smells and people from different walks of life, if that means enduring his nth infodump on how quirks work,

then, well. 2nd is really complaining.
