Tonight was my first session ever DMing a full D&D campaign. I was very nervous but it went wonderfully. In one session the gang escaped from prison, started a band, kicked a bandit so hard his own mother wouldn’t know him and only had one fight with each other!
This week our adventurers got to the next town got caught by guards trying to sneak someone in they shouldn’t, competed the “rats in the basement” standard RPG quest. Answered the question “what do you do with a drunken sailor?” And made coin through musical storytelling!
Gosh I love this group, yes this is now a weekly thread!
Honestly I can't wait for tonights shenanigans!
Tonight the crew set sail and now get to roll against the first proper encounter table! Could the level 2 party run into a kraken? It’s a 1 in 160000 chance, let’s see if it happens!
Whilst no krakens the party did face a bunch of sea monsters and @cephalothot truly came into her marine element!
Tonight my band of plucky adventurers will face something entirely new. For once the thing they are chasing is actually coming to them!
Last night our group managed to steal the package they were following without violence. Then immediately went off in the direction of where the package was meant to be sold and fought the buyer instead. The group prevailed by by murdering the buyer.
They then took a rest and levelled up for the first time in the campaign. With a bunch of them getting a whole host of new abilities. Then as they woke up one of their troop had vanished in the night! With footprints leading away from the camp they have decided to follow!
In search of their friend the group immediately sold the quest item to get access to a magic way to transport quickly to where they think their friend might have been taken. And managed to go a whole session without a murder!
As a shenanigans DM I am all for this sort of thing but I was expecting them to take about 4/5 more sessions to get to this city but good on them for finding a way!
Tonight’s session is gonna be role play heavy with the groups first real dilemma and their introduction to a new city and kingdom!
As predicted it was super roleplay heavy! The group managed to convince their hosts to let them stay a night and with one very lucky narrative roll (This is the second time this player Nat 20’d on a last chance to turn this in your favour roll) they changed their teleport landing
From the middle of the Queens palace to a book tower on the edge of the palace. Fleeing the palace to the slums they found A place to stay and got the lay of the land.
Oh I forgot to mention at one point the 8ft firbolg started floating uncontrollably and panicked the whole party including himself before floating back to earth.
Tonight we start with a shopping session followed by some potential side questing, or as I like to call it, please don’t get yourself killed whilst some of the group are away!
