🌊 DEEP HOUSE CLASSICS 🌊

Honestly... I'm beyond happy and proud that this playlist is nearly at 1,000 followers: https://spoti.fi/3ehO7kq .

Starting a thread on here to share one track a day from the playlist.

Classics, underground anthems and new bits.

All things DEEP! 👇
#1: @JMHoneycomb - Thinking About Your Body ( @LouieVeganyc Dance Ritual Mix)

One of the greatest pieces of music ever made for me. Everything I love about house music in one song...
#2: @dennisferrer - Shout

B-Side on ‘Ghetto Discotek Building’, Dennis’ four-track EP on @madhouserecords back in 1999. Jazzy and hypnotising, one of my favourite underground DF records.

@KerriChandler
#3: @ianpooleyOFC - Cold Wait ( @feelmybicep Dub)

5 years old already… Absolutely lethal bassline and those chord stabs get me every time. Original is a killer record too.

Big up to Bicep lads on their new album. 🔥
#4: @KerriChandler Presents Arnold Jarvis – Inspiration

Probably my favourite ever house record. The vocal from AJ and the piano work from Kerri are flawless...

The feeling when that first kick comes in is like nothing else. A special piece of music.
#5: Moloko [ @roisinmurphy] - The Time Is Now (Francois K [ @fknyc] Vocal Mix)

Moloko have had some of the greatest remixes of all-time... This classy number from Francois K is one of my favourites.

Deep, shuffling and a killer groove. 🔥
#6: Mr. G - Daily Prayer

Another one of my favourites… Everything about this is hypnotic, but that chugging bassline and those chords get me every single time.

"Heal my heart, ease my pain..."

Shoutout @kerrichandler & Treasa "Diva" Fennie on the original vocal. Anthem. 👌
#7: @DamSwindle - The Break Up

One of many tunes I could pick from these guys... Badass drums, deep hitting chords and a clever First Choice vocal sample. Relentless, quality Deep House for over 8 years now. 🔥

@HeistRecordings
#8: @benwestbeech - So Good Today (Yoruba [ @RecordsYoruba] Soul Mix)

The original is a dope piece of soulful breaks, but Osunlade took this DEEP... This is actually one of the tunes that made me start the Deep House Classics playlist. House doesn't get much better.

@brownswood
#9: Maya Jane Coles [ @mjcofficial] - Nowhere

Without doubt one of my favourite producers of recent times… Diverse, hypnotic and unique in everything she does. This particular record takes me back to peak clubbing times 10 years ago. Happy memories.

🔥🔥🔥
#10: @omarlyefookMBE - Feeling You ( @HenrikSchwarz Remix)

One of the best house remixes of all-time for me. Omar is one of my favourite vocalists to ever come out of the UK, the original is amazing and what Henrik did is nothing short of spectacular. Still an anthem.
#11: Blue Boy - Sandman

The follow-up to his hit single 'Remember Me', a legendary '97 house cut from Scottish producer Lex Blackmore.

A clever sample of The Undisputed Truth, dope artwork... and just a quality record that still sounds super fresh today. 🕺
#12: Leon @Vynehall - It's Just (House Of Dupree)

Famously sampled by Dilla on 'So Far To Go', the way Leon Vynehall flipped The Isley Brothers is 👌👌👌.

Consistently brilliant output for over 8 years now, but this is still probably my favourite release of his... Top stuff.
#13: @terrenceparker - Love's Got Me High ( @marcromboy's Systematic Soul Remix)

A deep, moving piece of music that never fails to put a smile on my face. Love the original, love this remix just as much.

Detroit meets Mönchengladbach to create a masterpiece. 👌
#14: Brawther - Do It Yourself (Alternative Mix)

Absolutely slammer from 2013... The definition of underground house music for me - makes me want to be head-down in a 200 cap club, grooving. 💣

@secretsundaze
#15: The White Lamp [ @darrenemerson] - It's You ( @RonBasejam Remix)

This is the first track of my Deep House Classics playlist, it's one of the main reasons I started it in the first place.

Not much else to say other than... Anthem. 🌊
#16: Karizma [ @KAYTRONIK] - The Power

One of the finest pieces of piano house ever made... Karizma's drums and groove are second-to-none, this is one of his greatest moments.

Could listen on repeat for hours. 🎹
#17: @Moodymann313 & Amp Dog Knight ( @AmpFiddler) - I'm Doing Fine

A piece of magic this record - two of Detroit's finest team up for a deep, soulful and funky 9-minute classic. Nearly 20 years old, never sounded so fresh. ⚡️
#18: @DJPaoloRocco - Move Body, Move Forward

A deep house stomper from 2012, originally released by Klasse Recordings and then picked up by @DefectedRecords. That bassline is next level on a big system. 🔥
#19: The Sleepwalkers - New Thang ( @MarcKinchen Dub)

Difficult to know where to start with MK and his dubs. This is definitely up there for me though... 1993 on @strictlyrhythm, underground classic.
#20: @Lazare__Hoche & Malin Génie - Pressure Baby (Vocal: Mar)

Deep house bomb from 2012... A bumping bassline and one of my favourite house vocals of the past 10 years. Feel jealous to anyone hearing it for the first time. 🔥
#21 - Jovonn - This Thing Is Jammin'

1992 classic from NYC legend Jovonn - one of many productions he crafted to help define the deep house genre in the early days. Those drums get me every time. 🥁
#22 - Romanthony - Let Me Show You Love ( @Gerd4lux's Crooklyn Full Vox Mix)

Gerd's 2013 refresh of an all-time classic from the late, great Romanthony...

Absolute pumper, those chords are killer.

Love the original from @LeelaJames.
Love the Quentin version with Leela's vocals.
Love this version too...

Amazing record. Simple as that. ⚡️

One of my favourite @strictlyrhythm releases. An underground classic from Armand Van Helden... "Come on!" 👟
#25: @delano_smith - A Message For The DJ (Feat. @Diamondancer1) ( @JamieJimpster Red Light Remix)

A proper deep house anthem from 2005... That vocal kills it every time for me. Jimpster smashed it on the remix too.

"House puts me in a zone..." 🎶
#26: Bwi-Bwi - Insight

Underground stomper from 4 years ago. Originally released on Lüüd Discs as part of a vinyl-only EP, then picked up by @b00ked for @classicmusicco...

This tune sends people mental every time it gets dropped. 🌊
#27: FCL - Let's Go

Absolute 💥 from 2010.

Funny story - on a night out with FCL a few years ago & kept singing "if I had to go" - so much so that @San_Soda had to politely tell me to shut up.

Got shit on by a pigeon in the smoking area @ Corscia too. Great night. Great tune.
#28: Round One - I'm Your Brother

On @emilycoxhead's birthday, this is the only tune I could pick today. House music anthem from 1994 and a song very close to my heart. 👌
#29: @Classixx - Into The Valley (Feat. Karl Dixon) (Julio Bashmore Remix)

Never fails to put a smile on my face this record. Special memories...

Originally released on Green Label Sound in 2011, re-released in 2014 on @DFTDrecords.

🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹

Release on @exploitedrec back in 2012, this tribute to Wu-Tang was one of the first pieces of music that introduced me to Claptone...

Still a massive tune.

The first time I met Sam at @BBCR1, I had the record sleeve for this tune on my t-shirt (slightly awkward). He told me the story of how the record was made and that the main sample is his mum's vacuum, hence the name.

Always a banger. 👌
