THREAD: 100 games in 100 days from my collection. (Because I'm bored and want semi-regular content back on the timeline)
Day 1/100: Yooka-Laylee & The Impossible Lair ( #Switch, 2019)

Might as well start with the game I'm currently playing. Picked up cheap after I saw a @Caddicarus glowing review.

Definitely well made but the controls seem off to me, looks like I'm the only one? #NintendoSwitch
Day 2/100: Resident Evil 4 #Wii Edition (2007)

Probs the game that surprised me the most last year, having never played it or being a fan of Resident Evil.

Absolutely loved it, and 100% the best platform for it.

Anyone wanna recommend another #ResidentEvil game for me to play?
Day 3/100: Eternal Darkness ( #Gamecube, 2002)

The most... 'Unique' GC game I own, played for the first time on a CRT last year and was genuinely spooky, the Sanity system has a few proper scares..

It should be used by more current games!

#100Games100Days
Day 4/100: Rez ( #PS2, 2002)

A must play just for the initial experience. I have the VR version but haven't played it yet, so excited to do so though.

The rhythm game that inspired 1000 others! #Playstation2

#100Games100Days
Day 5/100: Bioshock ( #Xbox360, 2007)

Another game that thanks to lockdown I played the whole way through for the first time.

I could easily see why its called a stone cold classic. And I must have been the only #Xbox player in history who didnt know the twist!

#100Games100Days
#100Games100Days

Day 6/100: Silent Bomber ( #PS1, 2000)

A definite 'hidden gem' - some unique gameplay where basically you bomb the shit out of a futuristic world.

Really good arcade style action and some of the best worst voice acting you'll ever hear 😂
#100Games100Days

Day 7/100: #SoulCalibur ( #Dreamcast, 1999)

I'm a Tekken die hard... But this might just be the best fighting game of all time.

Not much more I can say... If you've never played it, fire up an emulator and you'll see just how special it is.
#100Games100Days

Day 8/100: Sly 3: Honour Among Thieves ( #PS2, 2005)

If you've never played a Sky Raccoon game before.. Firstly why not. Secondly start with this.

This is the new PS5 platforming game we need Sony, not another fucking Ratchet & Clank!
#100Games100Days

Day 9/100: LA Noire ( #Xbox360, 2011)

I wouldn't say it's aged spectacularly.. But it's another game I completed for the first time in Lockdown and is unique enough to warrant a playthrough.

It's also ridiculously cheap.. I found this clean AF copy for just ÂŁ1!
#100Games100Days

Day 10/100: Pokemon Ruby ( #GBA, 2003)

Going to stick my head above the parapet here...

This is the greatest #Pokemon game of all time.

Fight me.
#100Games100Days

Day 11/100: Ghost Of Tsushima ( #PS4, 2020)

My favourite game of last year. Go and play this game right now.

62 hours it took me to 100% and platinum it. Every hour was a pleasure.
#100Games100Days

Day 12/100: #Zelda A Link Between Worlds ( #3DS, 2013)

Here's a hot take: IMO This is the best handheld Zelda game there is.

Yes, that's an SP. Yes, I know you can't play this game on it. I just wanted to flex the triforce edition đŸ€·â€â™‚ïž
#100Games100Days

Day 13/100: #Tekken ( #PS1, 1995)

Where it all started...

Though, I DO NOT recommend you play this game in 2021, it has not aged well 😂

DO however watch the hilarious FMVs on YouTube.

PS: Always Yoshimitsu. ❀
#100Games100Days

Day 14/100: Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga ( #GBA, 2003)

Hands down my favourite RPG ever. Genuinely funny and the high point for a series that has never topped the original.

Unless you abuse some items, the final boss will chew you up though. Sheesh.
#100Games100Days

Day 15/100: The World Ends With You ( #Nintendo #DS, 2006)

A game I still haven't got round to playing, but everything I've read indicates that it's excellent.

Not one I hear people talking a lot about though? At least not when it comes to a potential remaster.
#100Games100Days

Day 16/100: Resident Evil 5 ( #Xbox360, 2009)

Having only played Resident Evil 4 previously, I've now tackled this and... It's okay?

I can see why people don't like it as its so action orientated, but it's missing something which made 4 so special.
#100Games100Days

Day 17/100: Vampire Night ( #PS2, 2002)

All G-Con games are great, but this one gets slept on. Big dumb fun, and a strong contender for unintentional funniest game ever 😂

#100Games100Days

Day 18/100: Madden 16 ( #PS4, 2016)

Only one choice today with my #Bucs being in the #SuperBowl...

My favourite Madden as it introduced Draft Champions mode - series has lost its way recently but still.. It's football 😁
#100Games100Days

Day 19/100: Super Hot VR ( #PS4, 2018)

One of the most unique VR games out there - a shooter where time only moves when you do.

Definitely play it, and if you don't have VR, there's two other Super Hot games on almost every console.
#100Games100Days

Day 20/100: Manhunt 2 ( #Wii, 2007)

There isn't many 18 rated games for the Wii.. This is certainly.. One of them 😂

Not as good as the first one, but certainly just as shocking. Worth the pennies it costs for that alone.
#100Games100Days

Day 21/100: #GodOfWar 1 & 2 ( #PS2, 2005 & 2007)

Two for the price of one... Two of the best ps2 games of all time and a stellar franchise.

Both games hold up so well today, the PS3 remasters are good but try and find the originals, they're worth it.
#100Games100Days

Day 22/100: #Killzone Mercenary ( #PSVita, 2013)

Full disclosure, I've never played a Killzone game before, and this is the only one I own.

But I neglect #VitaIsland far too much, I will get around to playing this soon!
#100Games100Days

Day 23/100: Mirrors Edge ( #Xbox360, 2008)

I absolutely adored this game when it came out - probably more than most, but imo it's a cult classic, especially if you can get hold of the DLC content.

But for the love of god please don't talk about the sequel 😂😭
#100Games100Days

Day 24/100: #Tetris ( #GameBoy, 1989)

I went to play a game after pulling this out this morning - and ended up on it for 90 minutes.

It's never not addictive 😂
#100Games100Days

Day 25/100: #WWE Smackdown Here Comes The Pain ( #PS2, 2003)

With #NXTTakeOver minutes away, let me present to you... The greatest wrestling game of all time.

Yeah I said it.
#100Games100Days

Day 26/100: Crash Team Racing ( #PS1, 1999)

Better than Mario Kart? Maybe.
Better than the remake? Probably.
The best non-platforming Crash game? Definitely.
#100Games100Days

Day 27/100: The Simpsons Game ( #PS2, 2007)

Childhood classic, could've been the definitive Simpsons game but...

It's no Hit And Run, that's for sure.
#100Games100Days

Day 26/100: Batman Arkham City ( #Xbox360, 2011)

The best game of a great series. Another title you can get for pennies these days on a lot of systems - But tbh get this AND Arkham Asylum.

Worth it.
#100Games100Days

Day 29/100: Metal Slug Anthology ( #PS2, 2007)

This game has gotten rather expensive in recent years.. But it's worth it, because outside the arcade it's the best way to play #MetalSlug.

And what good games they are. 😍
#100Games100Days

Day 30/100: Virtua Striker 2 V-2000.1 ( #Dreamcast, 2000)

This is the greatest arcade football game of all time.

Don't ask why, just understand that it is. 😅
#100Games100Days

Day 31/100: #Metroid Prime ( #Gamecube, 2002)

I played this for about 2 hours and never returned to it cause I just couldn't get into it, despite loving 2d Metroid games.

Clearly I'm stupid as it gets mentioned as one of the best ever!
#100Games100Days

Day 32/100: Jak X ( #PS2, 2006)

It's like CTR and Twisted Metal having a bastard stepchild...

Solid fun, and (bizarrely) you have Queens Of The Stone Age on the soundtrack. Which is always a good thing.
#100Games100Days

Day 33/100: Dante's Inferno ( #Xbox360, 2010)

Legit the most obvious God Of War knock off I've ever played, how they didn't get sued is purely down to EA 😂

But... It is good fun. (Cat for scale)
#100Games100Days

Day 34/100: Luigi's Mansion 2 ( #3DS, 2013)

Having never played the original (I know), this was my first exposure to the series. Great fun, feels like it should always have been a handheld game.
#100Games100Days

Day 35/100: Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate ( #PSVita, 2013)

No hyperbole, this might be the WORST superhero game I've ever played. It's like a gimmicked mini game stretched out for a whole campaign!

Should have realised that when it was an Origins spin off.
#100Games100Days

Day 36/100: Sonic Adventure 2 Battle ( #Gamecube, 2001)

Got half way through before my save file got corrupted... 😡

But before that.. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Much more refined than the original, which makes it all the more playable.
#100Games100Days

Day 37/100: Lonely Mountains Downhill ( #NintendoSwitch, 2021)

Got it yesterday from @SuperRareGames - and its absolutely brilliant. Stick on some music, sit down and before you know it 4 hours will have passed.

So much fun.
#100Games100Days

Day 38/100: #Tekken 3 ( #PS1, 1998)

The best fighting game of all time from my favourite fighting franchise of all time. Holds up INCREDIBLY well.

And again... ALWAYS Yoshimitsu. ❀
#100Games100Days

Day 39/100: House Of The Dead 2 & 3 Return ( #Wii, 2007)

I don't have a Wii Zapper but this is still pure arcade fun and well worth a pick up.

Side note, was there ever a console release for House Of The Dead 4?
#100Games100Days

Day 40/100: Need For Speed Underground ( #Gamecube, 2003)

A childhood classic... This and the second Underground were the high points in the series for me.

And that soundtrack 😍
#100Games100Days

Day 41/100: Super Monkey Ball 2 ( #Gamecube, 2002)

A prime example of when a crazy Japanese concept game becomes so successful commercially, that the idea and premise just becomes normalised in your mind 😅

The mini games are worth the money alone too.
#100Games100Days

Day 42/100: Cyberpunk 2077 ( #PS4, 2020)

Oh boy...

Tbh I got 2 hours in and just had to stop it was so buggy I couldn't enjoy it at all. Will maybe pick it up again in a few months.

Never have I been more disappointed for a launch.
#100Games100Days

Day 43/100: Duke Nukem Forever Balls Of Steel Edition ( #Xbox360, 2011)

Speaking of abject failures...

The game we thought we'd never see became the game we wished we never saw.

That is a hefty bust of Duke Nukem. You might ask 'why?'

I would say, 'why not?'
#100Games100Days

Day 44/100: DMC Devil May Cry ( #PS4, 2015)

Let me shock you...

I actually prefer this more than the original DMC games 😅 I might be the only person in the world to share that view.
#100Games100Days

Day 45/100: SSX ( #Xbox360, 2012)

There's a lot of love for the #SSX series but not so much for this attempted reboot.

Not sure why because it's great. A bit faster gameplay than the others but great fun and the single player deadly descents is awesome.
#100Games100Days

Day 46/100: Zack & Wiki ( #Wii, 2007)

Now I haven't played this yet... But, it has recorded great reviews and I picked it up due to @stopskeletons tweeting about it.

I trust Uncle Derek's judgement.
#100Games100Days

Day 47/100: #GTA Vice City ( #PS2, 2002)

Everyone has their favourite GTA game. This is mine. The soundtrack, the aesthetic, the side missions, the unlockables, the chest codes.. I don't think Rockstar ever 'bettered' this.
#100Games100Days

Day 48/100: #Tekken Card Challenge ( #Wonderswan, 1998)

You're getting two in a day as I forgot yesterday.

I haven't played this, I never will (as I don't own a wonderswan) but I needed it to complete my Tekken collection. Lovely boxed condition!
#100Games100Days

Day 49/100: #GuitarHero Live ( #PS4, 2015)

Was a great evolution for the series (real life performers and stages, plus hundreds of music videos) but I guess rhythm games were just done at this point.

Shame, cause I was playing this online as late as last year.
#100Games100Days

Day 50/100 (woo, halfway): Flipnic ( #PS2, 2003)

Does a 3D, storyline based pinball game appeal to you?

Probably not, but this did get in the '1001 video games to play before you die' book, in that series where they do quite a few media forms.
#100Games100Days

Day 51/100: Wip3out Pure ( #PSP, 2005)

Such a good series of games and with this being portable, it might be the best of the lot.

Quite a steep learning curve for newcomers due to the controls but once you have the hang of it, you'll be hooked.
#100Games100Days

Day 52/100: Demo 42 ( #PS1, 1998)

Here's something slightly different...

The OPS1 mag put together around 15 of the best Net Yaroze games ('member that?), along with a Metal Gear Solid demo. Bargain!

Check @Caddicarus' video for more on this, its a belter.
#100Games100Days

Day 53/100: #FightNight Round 3 ( #PS2, 2006)

For me, the best of the Fight Night games. And they're all whoppers.

Come on EA, it's time for a new one.
#100Games100Days

Day 54/100: Watch Dogs Legion ( #PS5, 2020)

This is a lesson as to why you don't buy any old launch title...

It's just not that good 😭 although my flat is on it, as its a pretty realistic map of London!
#100Games100Days

Day 55/100: Black ( #Xbox , 2005)

It's like a teenagers action movie wet dream. Everything is loud, everything explodes. A hell of a lot of fun.

Although, running this on the 360 is about as stable as the reactor in the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant
#100Games100Days

Day 56/100: G1 Jockey ( #PS2, 2002)

Well, seeing as it's #Cheltenham...

It's basically the horse racing equivalent of Football Manager... And there's 4 of them, all on the ps2!

Definitely worth a look if even just for the novelty value.
#100Games100Days

Day 57/100: G1 Jockey 4 ( #PS2, 2006)

Told you there was more G1 Jockey games 😂

This one uses the analog sticks to steer the horse. Its great fun, just wish there was the opportunity to run classic races. Imagine getting the chance to be Frankie winning his 7!
#100Games100Days

Day 58/100: WarioWare Gold ( #3DS, 2018)

Was scratching around trying to find something #GoldCup themed (and I don't have anything to do with Minella Indo...

It's a WarioWare game, if you've played one you've played them all. Still fun though!
#100Games100Days

Day 59/100: Doom ( #PS4, 2016)

The best Doom game since the very first one, by a country mile. So much fun, and so much better than the sequel.

Every PS4 game has a reversible cover as well, so make sure you switch it!
#100Games100Days

Day 60/100: Splatterhouse ( #Xbox360, 2010)

The goriest game Ive ever played (and judging by the quote on the back of the box, Nuts magazine agrees with me).

Unfortunately, it doesnt make it any good. Never cater a game towards a teenage boy, it won't end well.
#100Games100Days

Day 61/100: Zelda The Minish Cap ( #GBA, 2004)

I first played this a couple of years ago. Definitely one of the best ever handheld Zeldas, and definitely worth playing.

A genuine cart is around ÂŁ20-25 at the moment, still worth it for that price.
#100Games100Days

Day 62/100: Oddworld: Abes Oddesey ( #PS1, 1997)

I had this on PC as a kid, this version is.. Okay. But what a franchise this is. Cannot wait for #OddWorldSoulStorm next month. You need to play one of these games, this is a decent one to start with.
#100Games100Days

Day 63/100: Super Paper Mario ( #Wii, 2007)

Started playing this yesterday - kind of a hybrid platformer/RPG that lets you switch between 2D and 3D. Been good so far but not exactly difficult...

Certainly better than any of the last three Paper Marios though.
#100Games100Days

Day 64/100: Spiderman ( #Gamecube, 2002)

The first decent Spiderman game we ever got (yes, that is a fact) and a genuinely funny tutorial that's worth playing this game for alone.

This will always live in the shadow of it's sequel, but it's still worth playing.
#100Games100Days

Day 65/100: Crash 2 ( #PS1, 1997)

My favourite of the original Crash trilogy, just the right mix of refined platforming without too many gimmicks like the third game.

Getting 101% is a right of platforming passage.
#100Games100Days

Day 66/100: Blitz The League II ( #Xbox360, 2011)

An 18 rated sports game... Don't think there's too many of those out there. Graphic injuries, the ability to take steroids, headhunting... Doesn't actually make it that fun 😂
#100Games100Days

Day 67/100: Shadow Of The Colossus ( #PS2, 2006)

One of those games you need to play at least once in your life. The PS4 remaster is fixes many small issues but there's a certain charm about the original.

Breathtaking, heartbreaking, stunning.
#100Games100Days

Day 68/100: Tekken 3 Collectors Edition ( #PS1, 1998)

Misleading name aside, this is a neat little thing. The OPS1 magazine gave them away, they're a glorified demo where you can play 4 stages as either Xiaoyu or Eddy (iirc)

Not particularly rare, still cool.
#100Games100Days

Day 69 (nice)/100: Tetris Effect ( #PS4, 2018)

This might sound weird, but this game could be the #PSVRs killer app.

One of the best puzzle games Ive played and something that can evoke actual emotion. Its a game of Tetris but especially in VR, its so much more
#100Games100Days

Day 70/100: Ghost Squad ( #Wii, 2008)

There is absolutely nothing special about this game. 😂

But, if you have a Wii Zapper and like on rails shooters, you will have a pleasant 1-2 hours with this. I think it's worth about 17p atm.
#100Games100Days

Day 71/100: Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection ( #PS4, 2015)

Confession time: I've played bits of all the Uncharted games, never completed one and never got on with them.

Which by all opinions, is ludicrous. So tonight I'm starting again, from the beginning.
#100Games100Days

Day 72/100: #SSX Tricky ( #PS2, 2001)

Pound for pound.. Probably my favourite ps2 game of all time.

It's also the best SSX game ever made. So much fun, so much replayability, and no snowboarding game has come close to being as cool.
#100Games100Days

Day 73/100: Driver ( #PS1, 2000)

There's a very good driving game in here...

Unfortunately half the people that played this never knew because they couldn't get past the tutorial, which is the hardest first level in any game, ever. So unnecessary 😂
#100Games100Days

Day 74/100: Pursuit Force ( #PSP, 2005)

A fantastic PSP launch title.

Perfect for pick up and play sessions - It's big dumb fun, a hybrid of Die Hard and GTA type violence.
#100Games100Days

Day 75/100: The Conduit ( #Wii, 2008)

Everything I know about this says its a hidden gem. Still havent played it, but I will eventually (I say that a lot)

IGN called it the best Wii shooter on launch. And, it supports Wii Speak! (I don't know what that is 😂)
#100Games100Days

Day 76/100: #Tekken Tag Tournament 2 ( #PS3, 2012)

My copy is all beaten up but a great special edition.

Gorgeous art book and the weirdest documentary of all time, which lets you follow members of the Tekken team around a Japanese city for 90 minutes 😂
#100Games100Days

Day 77/100: The American Dream ( #PS4, 2017)

One of the weirder VR experiences... The whole game is a parody and imagines a world where everything (making breakfast, getting dressed etc) involves guns.

Basically the US in 2021.
#100Games100Days

Day 78/100: The Orange Box ( #Xbox360, 2007)

One of the best and most important gaming compilations ever...

Half Life Episode Two, Team Fotrtess 2... And the introduction of Portal.

Indispensible.
#100Games100Days

Day 79/100 (yeah I forgot again): Mario Strikers Charged ( #Wii, 2007)

Nintendo, stop being cowards and remake this game.

I spent dozens of hours on this when I was younger, one of the best arcade football games.
#100Games100Days

Day 80/100: NFL Street ( #Gamecube, 2004)

Another game that desperately needs a remake. So much fun, and so different to Madden...

Mike Alstott is UNSTOPPABLE in this. #GoBucs
#100Games100Days

Day 81/100: Table Tennis ( #Xbox360, 2006)

Remember when Rockstar decided to bin off #GTA for a while and make a Table Tennis game?

The graphics for the time were insane. The gameplay... Less so. But it's still a cool little oddity.
#100Games100Days

Day 82/100: Virtua Tennis ( #Dreamcast, 2000)

A fantastic arcade port with a surprisingly deep career mode.

Yevgeny Kafelnikov is an absolute beast in this game đŸ‡·đŸ‡ș
#100Games100Days

Day 83/100: Donkey Konga ( #Gamecube, 2004)

If you ever wanted to play All The Small Things on a plastic set of Bongos, then this is the game for you.

Unfortunately.. I don't have the Bongos in my flat, making this game as useful as a chocolate teapot 😂
#100Games100Days

Day 84/100: Viewtiful Joe ( #PS2, 2005)

One of those games that is impossible to compare to something else (other than the sequel), it's so unique.

If you like cinema, action, beat em ups and cartoons, you'll love this.

A Capcom gem.
#100Games100Days

Day 85/100: Lovecraft's Untold Stories ( #PS4, 2018)

Gotta be honest I know nothing about this game - But I picked it up yesterday from CEX for a fiver - and it's a lovely collectors edition.
#100Games100Days

Day 86/100: Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword ( #DS, 2005)

One of the only pure Touch Control games that is actually decent... So much fun and hard as balls. Still cheap too so go out and get it
#100Games100Days

Day 87/100: #TNA #Impact ( #Wii, 2008)

This legit has better graphics than #WWE2K20 😂

Unfortunately.. It's not that fun to play. Still though, what a roster TNA had at the time!
#100Games100Days

Day 88/100: Bubsy 3D ( #PS1, 1996)

Greatest platforming game of all time. 🙃
#100Games100Days

Day 89/100: Canis Canem Edit (Bully) ( #PS2, 2006)

Rockstar went avant garde and produced this gem. Holds up surprisingly well and is just so much fun to go around the school causing mayhem.

Something they'd never think of producing these days.
#100Games100Days

Day 90/100: #TheLastofUsPartII ( #PS4, 2020)

The most controversial game ever?

For all the doubters and cynics, PLEASE play it. From start to end. It's one of the greatest games (and stories) ever. However, it's so *big* that I may only ever play it once.
SIDE NOTE: You MUST watch @OSWreview's #TLOU2 deep dive. Its one the most succinct and ultimately fair reviews of a game out there.

If you have prejudices, or have played it and want some great discussions on certain nuances, stick it on ASAP.
#100Games100Days

Day 91/100: Medievil ( #PS4, 2019)

Started off playing this remake not thinking a lot of it, but it's dirt cheap and a lot of fun. I even platinum'd it (only done that for about 6 games 😅)

If you like old school hack and slash there's something in this for you
#100Games100Days

Day 92/100: #Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games ( #Wii, 2009)

These games are... In all honesty pretty crap.

BUT, they had such mass market appeal, that your nan has probably played one of these games.

And with the right people.. They get competitive 😂
