I like @AndrewYang as a person. I really like a lot of his supporters.

I also love my city, and really love the people in it.

So this will be a thread where I will hold #YangForNY accountable in real time during his campaign.

There are only 3 rules, civility, fairness and fact
1) Why would Andrew Yang launch a campaign with @RitchieTorres? Was it a signal to corporate backers who adore him? If so, there is a reason they adore him. He put a price tag on us, even on families who lost loved ones to the NYPD, who he colluded with against them.
2) Here is a letter warning everyone about @RitchieTorres.

Look who wrote it.

Why would @AndrewYang begin his campaign in NYC in the middle of the most historic movement against police violence, with the person who betrayed those murdered by the NYPD?

3) Although Yang didn't launch with @rontkim, he is a beloved leader in the progressive community. I personally trust him. And I've seen Assemblymember Kim's influence already - with @AndrewYang vowing to decriminalize sex work in the name of Yang Song. https://twitter.com/rontkim/status/1350183487475736580
5) NYPD PBA is among the most hated groups in New York City. Its leader is an open and loud racist, who broke with tradition and policy to endorse Trump, threaten the Mayor, and dehumanize Black and brown New Yorkers, including those killed and tortured by police. #YangForNY
6) Tusk isn't just backing police murderers with consulting to protect them from accountability.

As each city battles greedy and destructive corporations, #YangForNY's consulting firm makes its living helping them.

Clients? Jeff Bezos. Walmart. Blackstone. Uber.
7) @AndrewYang's campaign consultants are headed by Bradley Tusk, the same Tusk who was campaign manager for Bloomberg, largely disgraced by regular New Yorkers for brutalizing with Stop and Frisk and so much more.

Why did #YangForNY choose them?
8) Do #YangForNY's early decisions show us how Andrew Yang will lead this city?

Because this city is not 98.5% white rich folks who work for billionaires against the interest of working families, but the campaign consultant firm is. https://tuskstrategies.com/team/
9) Marla Tusk, from #YangForNY's campaign firm, was a federal prosecutor who clerked for George Bush appointed Dennis Jacobs.

In her Tusk bio under "favorite political figure" she "pleads the fifth".

Maybe the Tusks should tell us.
11) Both the Torres championing and Tusk involvement indicate @AndrewYang isn't on same page with most New Yorkers on NYPD and corporate dominance.

On police tip, even before the mayoral run, Yang needed to adopt a more sophisticated analysis. https://twitter.com/AndrewYang/status/1269794236414808064
12) I interrupt this thread with just a reminder of how nice and reasonable #YangGang can be. Most of these people really want everyone to thrive. https://twitter.com/cerulean123/status/1350537204347645957
13) And Andrew too, who just responded to a part of this thread. Albeit, the most positive portion of it because we all dig @rontkim :) :) https://twitter.com/AndrewYang/status/1350509127773118465
14) The head of Tusk in NY has responded to this thread and has distanced the firm for their work with NYPD PBA.

@chriscoffeytalk, did Tusk work with them during the killings of Eric Garner or others? Illegal profiling of Muslims? During Stop and Frisk? https://twitter.com/chriscoffeytalk/status/1350539235208605701
15) Ever since this thread, Chris Coffey of Tusk, who seems to lead the #YangForNY project there, has been repeatedly lying and misrepresenting the firm and its involvement working for one of the most racist and violent right wing organizations in NYC. https://twitter.com/aaronnarraph/status/1350874811724132353
16) Sadly, this @AndrewYang + Tusk thing is not getting better.

Here's a leader at #YangForNY's campaign and Lis Smith.

And here is an entire thread of receipts about Lis Smith and her white nationalist relationship.

This is who they attract.

https://twitter.com/nadinevdVelde/status/1201254801339666432
17) Not only are Tusk campaign leads of #YangForNY in bed w/ bad people, they aren't just a PR/strategy firm. They are a venture capital firm.

When they are involved with a campaign, it's not just to win, it's to bolster their investments in harming NYC

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/26/business/economy/gig-economy-lobbying.html
18) Lots of the good faith defenders of @AndrewYang's selection of Tusk leading #YangForNY is that they're just a firm to get his ideas done.

But they're unique:

They're also active investors who have ghostwritten legislation harming workers and communities across the nation.
19) UBI is a big idea.

Creating spaces funded by poor people's UBI is a bad idea.

And doing so to enrich billionaire developers is a terrible idea.

The Tusk relationship and this is very disappointing from #YangForNY https://twitter.com/AndrewYang/status/1352257559969849354
20) This is Andrew Yang's campaign co-chair and how he is funded. #YangForNY https://twitter.com/rafaelshimunov/status/1291560026251956225
21) Today @AndrewYang compared Palestinian civil society's non violent boycott demand to Nazis. And minimized our Jewish issues to money, circumcision and occupation. Not good #YangForNY. https://twitter.com/harryreis/status/1352648384809738240
22) Remember, Andrew Yang launched his campaign with Ritchie Torres as co-chair. The first thing Rep Torres did after his victory to serve the people of the Bronx was to pinkwash the occupation, during annexation backlash. #YangForNY https://twitter.com/SamelysLopez/status/1276199241191473153
23) Here's @AndrewYang's campaign co-chair using far right talking points talking about Palestine activists as suffering mental illness

From Bari Weiss, which he RT'd, who left the NY Times after putting the lives of Black colleagues in danger by promoting white supremacy.
25) People are rightfully citing hypocrisy in @AndrewYang's smearing of BDS as Nazi like last week, and this week's support for boycotting @BKDems because of their harm to Chinese and Palestinians. #YangForNY (h/t @amaditalks, @jewish_worker) https://twitter.com/amaditalks/status/1353888922028437504
26) Tusk heads @AndrewYang's campaign.

They're also here bragging about how they used wording to pass anti-worker measures in California that favored billionaires over working drivers.

Why is #YangForNY not listening to their supporters and dumping this toxic group?
27) @AndrewYang, again trying to normalize Trumpian ideas that criminalize immigrants. Joining Starbucks and powerful business associations against immigrant small business owners. Real New Yorkers fight alongside immigrants, not against them for the rich https://twitter.com/AndrewYang/status/1381245547051372548
