Simba here, the owner of Furry Valley!

It's time for a tongue-in-cheek adventure exploring the best way to ask for help. #cute #animals 🦁

It might sound easy - all you do is ask, right?

But especially when we get new staff members, it seems difficult! Let's explore... (1/7)
This is the first mistake! I see this one all the time.

Two problems:

1) The person you're trying to ask your question to is going to get pinged more than once.

2) If the person you're pinging is afk, they can't answer your Q when back, by which time you might be afk!

(2/7)
Here's the next mistake. Just ask your question! 🦁

It's not like a phone call, or face-to-face meeting where it would be rude to just ask without greeting.

And please, if it's not important, try not to ask overly needy questions directly to people you barely know. :3 (3/7)
Next... Use proper grammar and spelling!

Even if I want to help you, and want to answer your question, it's really hard to do that if what you ask just doesn't make sense.

No one is psychic. Please help us help you by being precise and clear. (4/7)
Please keep it chill.

If you asked a question to someone and they didn't reply yet, please respect their time and the fact that they might be busy (or just not want to talk).

Especially if they literally told you that they're busy! 🦁 (5/7)
It is not a valid competition attempting to send as many individual direct messages to someone as possible in order to ask a single question.

... this guy never got there! 😛 (6/7)
Thus concludes our adventure!

- Ask immediately, don't ask to ask.
- Don't waste time with pointless small talk when you need help.
- Use proper grammar and spelling; make it easier to help you!
- Respect the time of the person your asking.

You've got this! Go forth and ask! 🦁
