A thread of all the films I've watched in 2021 (just for the hell of it):
1. The Last Airbender (2010)

Yes, this is the first film I watched in 2021... yeah.

Yikes. 😐👎
2. The Invitation (2015)

I absolutely loved this one. Love the unsettling vibe and I love the fact that it's a slow burn. Really great tension. Had me nervous the whole time. 😊👍
3. Videodrome (1983).

The movie was weird, therefore I loved it. I like when a movie explores certain themes in a weird way. The special effects were freaking insane! Cool film 😁👍
4. Pieces of a Woman (2020).

Had I seen it last year, it would've been in my top 5 of 2020. Damn.

BRILLIANT performances, especially Vanessa Kirby. I love how emotional and raw it is. Beautiful cinematography and score.

Really loved it ❤👍
5. Boy Erased (2018).

Ok, I knew this film would probably affect me emotionally, but like I wasn't expecting it to be *that* much 😭. I cried really freaking hard. And also got real mad (because screw homophobia).

It's a really great film that messed with my emotions 👏
6. Fantastic Voyage (1966).

I love me some old school sci fi. Really entertaining film, with some neat visuals 😊👍

Also, couldn't help but think of that one episode of The Magic School Bus.
7. Fantastic Planet (1973).

An actual fever dream? The animation is so weird. I really liked how everything was drawn, but at the same time I was lowkey creeped out.

I don't really care what it is, if there's some trippy animation/art involved, I'm gonna like it. 👍
8. The Favourite (2018).

LOVED it! Really great performances, witty dialogue, a cool score, nice sets and costume design.

And the freaking CINEMATOGRAPHY! AH! So many interesting shots and camera moves. I LOVED IT! 🥰
9. The Farewell (2019).

Wow. Super charming and touching film, with wonderful performances. I really liked it 🥺❤
10. The Florida Project (2017)

So beautiful, really freaking great. But man I do not like how things turned out for these characters. I just wanted everyone to be friends again 😔

But yeah, fantastic film 🥺👍
11. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)

So cute and delightful 🥺
Shout out to the score and the ANIMATION! The beautiful backgrounds and fluid movements of the characters are so good. Loved it 👍
12. Pinocchio (1940)

I've seen it before, but a long time ago. I forgot how good fun it was. A bit dark too, and I loved it. Once again, beautiful animation, especially during the scenes with the whale and the raging water moving around. Nothing beats old cel animation imo. 👍
13. Dumbo (1941)

So cute and fun. Dumbo owns my whole heart 🥺. Like I'm out here being emotional over a cartoon elephant 😭

I can't get over the animation of these old Disney films. Like the pink elephants scene, that is some fun animation. Love it.
14. Fantasia (1940)

This is my favorite Disney animated film ever. Period. IT'S ART. Animation set to music, it's literally art.

And the animation in this is some of the best in any Disney film imo. The entire film is just animators/artists flexing and I absolutely LOVE it! 🥰
15. Bambi (1942)

I had the pleasure of watching this for the 1st time, with the prior knowledge that his mom dies.

Also, every one talks about his mom dying, but what about the giant forest fire at the end??? The last 15-10 minutes are wild for no reason 💀

Cute movie tho! 👍
16. Saludos Amigos (1942)

This movie is really freaking neat! It was a delightful watch 👍

I loved Pedro the little plane, his story was my favorite one in the film. Stan Pedro the little plane for clear skin! 😊
17. The Three Caballeros (1944)

Also really neat and fun! The animation is really cool, especially during the last 10 minutes of the film. Those last 10 minutes felt like a fever dream that just kept going (on par with pink elephants from Dumbo imo) 👍 💃
18. Make Mine Music (1946)

It's just fun little animated shorts with music. It's neat.

My favorite short was the last one: "The Whale Who Wanted to Sing at the Met". Stan Willie the opera singing whale!!! He deserved better. 🥺
19. Fun and Fancy Free (1947)

It's alright. I liked seeing my boy Jiminy Cricket again. Mickey, Donald, and Goofy are always neat. Bears slapping each other in the name of love is.... cool?
20. Melody Time (1948)

Cute. Fun seeing the three cabarellos again, even if they didn't say anything.

And also... Little Toot the tug boat 🥺. Stan Little Toot!
21. The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949)

I 👏 love 👏 Mr. 👏 Toad 👏 and 👏 all 👏 his 👏 friends 👏!!!

I know the Sleepy Hollow segment is what people know the most, but the Mr. Toad segment is superior imo!

Headless Horseman is dope tho.
22. Cinderella (1950)

Yo... step mother, step sisters, and lucifier... I want to FIGHT them. Great villians, but screw them.

Anyway, I liked this more than I was expecting to. There's a lot of nit pick things to point out, but that doesn't matter. It's a great film. 👍
23. Alice in Wonderland (1951)

Neat 👍
24. Never Rarely Sometimes Always (2020)

Rewatched my 2nd favorite film of 2020. Still such a beautiful film. I absolutely love it ❤
25. Peter Pan (1953)

Um, yeah, Captain Hook and Smee were the only likeable characters.... they're the villians. Everyone else.... I either didn't like or didn't care about. Peter I straight up didn't like 💀.

And uh..... the native American stuff..... 😬
26. Lady and the Tramp (1955)

Cute and delightful 😊

But, (spoiler), I did not appreciate the fact that the movie made me think Trusty died when he actually didn't. What was the reason 😭
27. I Care A Lot (2021)

ROSAMUND 👏 PIKE 👏. LOVE HER!

The plot is ridiculous tbh and you could probably pick this movie apart really easily, but I thought it was super enjoyable. I loved the dark, weird satire. Score was cool too.

Also, it has to be said: #FreeBritney
28. Sleeping Beauty (1959)

Maleficent's dope, the fairies are delightful, and the love story was dumb. How are you gonna build a relationship on "once upon a dream"? 💀

My favorite things about the film are easily the art and animation. The backgrounds are beautiful!
29. Sucker Punch (2011)

It's Zack Snyder's birthday, so I celebrated by watching my favorite film of his, Sucker Punch. This movie is rad as hell! Freaking love it! 🥰🔥
30. Dawn of the Dead (2004)

Rewatching every Zack Snyder film before ZSJL.

This movie is so freaking sick. Awesome characters and action. Love it so much!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
31. 300 (2006)

It's no wonder people called Zack a visionary director after this film. I think it's the most "Zack Snyder style" film out of all his films. It's awesome!

And the CINEMATOGRAPHY!!!! LARRY FONG DID NOT HAVE TO GO THAT HARD, BUT HE DID, AND I THANK HIM FOR IT!!!!
32. Watchmen (2009)

My favorite comic book movie. 🥰

But maybe a certain other Zack Snyder comic book movie starring a team of heroes can change my mind, who knows 👀
33. Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole (2010)

Y'all wanna talk about underrated animated films, this is it right here. Some of the best animation I've seen in any film. It's so ridiculously stunning. And also owls are dope. 👍
34. Sucker Punch (2011)

Did I already watch it earlier this month? Yes. Did I hesitate to watch it again? ABSOLUTELY NOT.
35. Man Of Steel (2013)

My favorite Superman film. Made me fall in love with the character and made Supes my favorite superhero.

It's also my favorite DCEU film. But maybe another DCEU film coming this Thursday can change my mind. Maybe 👀
36. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice: UE (2016)

2nd favorite DCEU film. I don't care what anyone says, this movie is freaking brilliant. The love I have for it is astronomical.

Btw, the Knightmare scene HIT DIFFERENT. I'M NOW READY FOR ZSJL, LET'S GO!!!!
37. Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)

It was everything I wanted and so much more. This is the happiest I've ever been watching a film. No exaggeration. So much laughter and tears of joy. It's easily the grandest, most epic cbm imo. My favorite cbm now. THANK YOU ZACK SNYDER!!
38 & 39. Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)

I've seen it 3 times total 😊
40. Zack Snyder's Justice League: Justice Is Gray Edition (2021)

The black and white is absolutely STUNNING! I honestly think I like this version better. It is just looks SO beautiful, it's insane. Felt more epic too, imo.
41. King Kong (1933)

Been a while since I saw an old monster movie. I missed them 🥰. 1st time watching OG King Kong and it's pretty cool. Really loved the effects, even if some of them seem outdated (it adds charm imo).

Btw... Kong didn't deserve any that. He was just chilling
42. Godzilla (1954)

Literally one of my favorite films of all time. Can't begin to express just how much I love this movie. I could watch it over and over again (which I have) and never grow tired of it. 🥰
43. King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962)

It's *so* silly and dumb, and I freaking LOVE it. It's always been one of my favorite Godzilla films. It's got fun characters and fun action. The silliness of it is what makes it so damn charming.
44. King Kong vs Godzilla (1962)

I watched it again 😊
45. King Kong Escapes (1967)

Even dumber than King Kong vs Godzilla. And I like it! Kong is sweet in this movie, love him.

Also... Dr. Hu (Huu? Who?)... they could not design an even more obvious villian if they tried! Like look at him. It's ridiculous, but that's why it's fun
46. Kong: Skull Island (2017)

Now why the hell did I sleep on this film??? It's freaking awesome! The action was badass and the characters were really good! Best characters in any of the MonsterVerse films. And the cinematography.... Larry Fong!!! Loved this movie!
47. Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)

Idc, I think this movie is dope as hell. I love the sick action and all the references make my little Godzilla nerd heart happy. I freaking love it.

The score is incredible btw! One of my favorite things about the film!
48. Godzilla vs Kong (2021)

In theaters! Story was weak and characters were paper thin, but I'm just here for the cool monster action and cinematography. And the action and cinematography were very cool! So I'm satisfied.
49. Zack Snyder's Justice League: Justice Is Gray (2021)

2nd time in black and white, 5th time total 🥰

#RestoreTheSnyderVerse please
50. Jacob's Ladder (1990)

I freaking loved it. So creepy and full of tension. Kind of heart breaking at times too. It's so interesting. Damn. I feel like I'm gonna be thinking about this film for a while. It's so good.
51. Come and See (1985)

Ok, I had to write a whole paragraph for this one cuz I just can not believe what I just watched. The most emotionally draining film I've ever seen. Brilliantly made, but so horrific and tragic. One of the best films ever made.
52. The Killers (1956)
53. There Will Be No Leave Today (1959)

Gonna watch all of Andrei Tarkovsky's films. Started with his first 2 student films. They were pretty neat.
54. The Steamroller And The Violin (1961)

Tarkovsky's 3rd short film. It was really heartwarming 🥺
55. Ivan's Childhood (1962)

Really liked it. I loved the characters and the cinematography is absolutely beautiful.
56. Andrei Rublev (1966)

Really loved it. I thought it was super interesting. Maybe not super historically accurate, but that doesn't bother me here. My favorite things were the dialogue and cinematography. I also love me some heavy religious talk in historical contexts.
57. Solaris (1972)

The Tarkovsky film I was looking forward to the most (cuz sci fi).

I freaking LOVED it! There's nothing I love more than existential sci fi films that leave me thinking. This film is awesome. Loved the story, it's themes, and of course the sci fi visuals.
58. Mirror (1975)

Did I fully understand it? No. Was I able to follow the nonlinear plot? Only a tiny bit. Did I love the film anyway? YES.

I just went along with where the film took me, and it was beautiful. I really liked it!

(Nice Andrei Rublev poster btw 👀)
59. Stalker (1979)

I'm blown away. Tarkovsky's mind is freaking insane.

I just fell in love with this film. Love it's themes, the dialogue, the characters (my fav being the writer). And the cinematography works so well. It's mesmerizing!

I wish I could think like Tarkovsky.
60. Nostalghia (1983)

Really liked it. Loved the main character. Really loved the long, slow takes (like in every Tarkovsky film). It's my least favorite Tarkovsky film so far, but it's still really great.
61. Voyage in Time (1983)

"Poetic Cinema"

I could listen to Andrei Tarkovsky talk about film for hours 😍. Also.... that denim look... yes sir.
62. The Sacrifice (1986)

Really liked it. I don't think I fully understand it though, but it still felt meaningful.

I've now finally seen every Tarkovsky film. Every single one was beautiful. Every single one! What a director 🙌
63. Mortal Kombat (1995)

I don't care man, this movie is fun as hell. It's stupid, but it's SO damn entertaining! The characters are fun and the action is cool (despite the lack of blood). And the score is KILLER!!! Only problem I have is the AWFUL cgi and no blood.
64. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997)

1st one is good and I stand by that. This one is *mad* stupid. Still really fun to watch though! It's a "so bad it's good" film. It's so ridiculous and it makes me laugh, so I like it 💀.

And once again: AWFUL CGI. And a dope score!
65. Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge (2020)

Now THIS is a Mortal Kombat movie! It's so sick! Loved the animation and there was a lot more gore than I thought there would be! I freaking loved it!
66. Mortal Kombat (2021)

Um, I freaking loved it tbh. I thought it was dope! Characters were cool (Kano is the best!), story was good enough. The blood and action is what I'm here for, and it was SICK! I really liked the film and I wouldn't mind a sequel.
67. Belladonna of Sadness (1973)

Ok this film is wild. The art and animation in this are so beautiful and so weird. Really interesting visuals and WILD imagery. It gets weird, and I like it. I love seeing trippy pieces of animation like this. And it's a cool story too. Loved it.
68. One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961)

Cute! Love the sketchy quality of the animation, it's a neat look.

If I have to compare two Disney dog films tho, I gotta say: Lady and the Tramp is better. Just sayin'.
69. Eyes Wide Shut (1999)

I reached number 69 in this thread, so I had to make it a good one 👀

My 3rd favorite Kubrick film btw 👍
