- The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon - I really enjoyed reading this long fantasy novel. It felt good to dive into a really meaty read at the start of the year. A little heavy-handed in places, especially with real-world cultural references.
- I Was Their American Dream by Malaka Gharib - While I really join reading challenges, one thing I& #39;m trying to do in 2021 is read a book of poetry and a graphic novel/comic in between each longer book. This was a great start. I loved Gharib& #39;s art and story.
- Just Us by Claudia Rankine - Powerful.
- Obit by Victoria Chang - These poems are styled in the form of obituaries and act as a meditation on grief. Beautifully written and poignant.
- Lobizona by Romina Garber - I did not love this lobizĂłn/bruja YA novel. The writing was tedious and the worldbuilding weak. That said, normally I abandon books that don& #39;t strike me, but there was enough to keep me reading. I would give future books by Garber a shot.
Woops, I forgot about this thread. Book spam incoming.
