the feminine mystique by betty friedan
- loved it!! must read for those interested in the history of the feminist movement, altho read with its context in mind (classism, racism& homophobia) overall loved it tho thx betty
the establishment- owen jones
this was a reread but incredible!! love u owen xoxo
troy by stephen fry

perfection as always from stephen fry https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="šŸ’“" title="Schlagendes Herz" aria-label="Emoji: Schlagendes Herz">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="šŸ’“" title="Schlagendes Herz" aria-label="Emoji: Schlagendes Herz">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="šŸ’“" title="Schlagendes Herz" aria-label="Emoji: Schlagendes Herz"> love him & love ancient greece my heart is full also LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL THIS COPY IS wowowow
the machine stops by e.m. forster

absolutely incredible, beautifully written & so so interesting (thx will for recommending). the ideas surrounding isolation felt relatable rn haha, +discussions surrounding religion & original thought !! 10/10
the picture of dorian gray by oscar wilde

reread for uni, incredible ofc, would always recommend wilde <3
girl, woman, other by bernadine evaristo

rlly lovely book, covering a multitude of stories & experiences lived by women, enjoyed it a lot & found it rlly beautiful! altho didn’t enjoy some of the characterisation, esp of the younger characters as it felt quite forced/unnatural
a dolls house by henrik ibsen’s

i read this for my drama module @ uni & i loved it sm, it’s so good & i can’t wait to study it next week
ok i’m still thinking about this play!! the treatment of the protagonist nora is so heartbreaking & perfectly encapsulates the way in which society viewed women as these perfect objects, as nothing more than ā€˜dolls’
the greek myths by robin waterfield & kathryn waterfield

greek myths make me v happy :,) enjoyed the fact this book included version of the myths i hadn’t read before, although overall didn’t entirely enjoy the writing style/tone
engines of privilege by francis green and david kynaston

rlly interesting read altho took me a while cos i kept getting angry at this country & having to stop haha, would recommend
only criticism i would have is it can b slightly repetitive, & arguments on how to solve the issues discussed aren’t brought up until the end (is also v data heavy!!!)
robinson crusoe by daniel defoe

glad i read it but took me a while bcos honestly it wasn’t one my faves, i lowkey found it rlly boring & rlly disliked robinson crusoe lmao, but glad i’ve read it now as so many other books i studied were inspired by it !
the ode less travelled by stephen fry

a gift from my best friend bcos of my love for stephen fry, was more technical than i expected but as acc interesting in how much it tied in/helped with the language module of my degree
the penguin book of myths & legends of ancient egypt by joyce tyldesley

was so interesting, although it was a heavy read & think i would have enjoyed it more if i had a more solid base knowledge than just that golden egypt book i read when i was 8 lmao
the comforters by muriel spark

been in a bit of a reading rut since being back @ uni, i read this for my course & i didn’t entirely enjoy it but i did love the discussions we had surrounding it !! xx
the midnight library by matt haig

read this for book club :) i understand the hype as it is a sweet book, although not something i’d usually read
