Ok hear me out KDJ and YJH went to the same high school and they were in different classes and YJH is obvs popular due to his looks despite his shitty personality and KDJ was a loner (frm the abuse) they never talked but YJH could always see KDJ through the library window

after basketball/football practice and KDJ was always reading a book or doing his h/w and bit by bit he seemed to notice KDJ even more but he didn't approach him and so a crush bloomed and he fell for the quiet, soft looking bookworm KDJ

but things took a turn when KDJ's identity was revealed n he started getting bullied YJH saw the things they did to KDJ and he secretly protected KDJ by threatening the people in his class but he couldn't do anything to those bullies in KDJ's class

he would keep an eye out for KDJ to make sure he was okay but didn't directly intervene because he knew the bullying would only get worse if his admirers saw them getting close so he kept his distance from KDJ

fast forward a few months YJH was working on his math h/w when he heard screams and yelling coming all over the school and he grabbed a guy rushing past him in excitement and asked wtf was going on

"Didn't you hear? Kim Psycho jumped and killed himself!" he laughed.

YJH punched him in the nose and dashed off, body feeling entirely cold despite it being summer he ran down the stairs to the courtyard where a group of people were gather and pushed past the crowd to find KDJ's lifeless and bloody body laying on the ground

he heard the teachers scream at them and push them back but the damage has already been done, the fond memories of KDJ peacefully reading a book with a small smile on his lips were replaced by wide lifeless orbs and a blood soaked uniform

YJH was in a daze even as he watched the paramedics take KDJ away in a stretcher he could hear the whispers of everyone is school some were laughing, some were in shock and some were greiving saying how sad they were that they lost a friend

those people that were sad and wrote a speech about missing KDJ and how horrible bullying was were the ones who pushed KDJ to commit suicide those who preached about anti bullying were the ones who bullied KDJ, tossing his table out of class, scribbling on his notebooks

tripping him when he walked, screamed and threatened him, called him names, threw his bag into the toilet, cut up his sports shirt and YJH wasn't afraid to tell the exactly how disgusting they are, how even though KDJ was a child of a murderer they WERE murderers themselves

he lashed out at them and didn't hesitate to throw a punch to whoever spoke badly of KDJ or whoever tried to make themselves feel better by calling KDJ their friend that that they were messing with him as a joke because YJH knows KDJ didn't have friends

but after that incident KDJ disappeared, there was no news of him and he never returned to school, many of them thought he died and life moved on, they graduated and grew up. However YJH never really moved on from KDJ, those unspoken words haunt him for years after KDJ's death

so imagine his surprise when at his high school reunion dinner party, KDJ shows up, alive and well.
