Has the Green Party learned nothing from the Aimee Challenor debacle? A desire for inclusivity blinded them to shocking safeguarding failures. With Kathryn Bristow now elected as co chair of Green Party Women it looks set to make the same errors again 1/
Kathryn Bristow works for GenderGP as a pathway advisor, supporting customers seeking to buy puberty blockers and cross sex hormones. For this service GenderGP charges customers £25 for a 15-minute chat with Kathryn, who has no clinical training whatsoever. 2/
GenderGP makes no background or DBS checks on its customer service advisors such a Kathryn Bristow, who are supporting often vulnerable children and adults as a time of considerable mental distress. 3/
GenderGP also has no safeguarding policies whatsoever in place, and makes no referrals of safeguarding concern to local authorities, despite being contacted regularly by children and young people with histories of suicide ideation and self harm. 4/
In fact GenderGP’s lack of safeguarding is its USP; whatever your age, whatever your mental state, GenderGP will sell you hormones, and Kathryn Bristow, and avid consumer of hormones, is there to help them along their way. This is an outrage. 5/ https://www.gendergp.com/treating-young-people/">https://www.gendergp.com/treating-...
Furthermore, GenderGP has repeatedly stated that it will continue to prescribe puberty blockers to children aged under 16, despite the recent judicial review that determined that children under 16 were “highly unlikely” to consent to such treatments. 6/ https://www.gendergp.com/treating-trans-youth-verdict-by-the-court-keira-bell-tavistock-blockers/">https://www.gendergp.com/treating-...
This is a colossal safeguarding breach, which is soon to be unlawful too. Kathryn Bristow is effectively being paid by GenderGP to act unlawfully, harming vulnerable children. @cleggacy why have you allowed this scandal to happen?
