The four thousand and five hundred year old "Indreshwar Mahadev" Temple on which The City of Indore was named, which is also mentioned in Shiva Mahapuran. Indra worshipped Mahadev here & In the Rainy Season Shivalinga is submerged in Water, hence called Indreshwar Mahadeva.
It is believed that many diseases are overcome by consuming water that is touched by Mahadev.
Shivling is Situated 15 feet below ground.
Many more very old Temples like Pandharinath Mandir, Uttar Mukhi Ganapati Mandir, Mangalnath Mandir, Goga dev Mandir, Kal bhairav mandir, Chintaharan Hanuman Mandir, Satyanarayan Mandir are situated in very close proximity to Indreshwar Mahadeva.
