Izuku is flightless. He is the only reindeer shifter in the North Pole who doesn’t have the ability to fly. All of the other shifters make fun of him, but none so bad as his hero Katsuki Bakugou, the most powerful and best flyer of all the young bucks.

Izuku used to play with Kacchan when they were fawns but now Kacchan laughs at him and pushes Izuku away with his small stubby horns and calls him useless Deku because he can’t fly.

“Why does a useless Deku like you even take flight lessons?” Kacchan laughs in his face when they meet with the coach outside in their deer forms, followed by snickers from all of the other reindeer.
“I-I could f-fly one day.

I want to help deliver the toys too!” Izuku says with determination and Katsuki just laughs and butts at his side with his horns. “Get lost, stupid Deku.” All the other reindeer laugh and Izuku leaves in tears.

One day, tired of the bullying, Izuku’s mother takes him away from the North Pole to live in the city as a human. She tells him he will never fly so there’s no point in staying. He cries but doesn’t say goodbye, nobody will care about a flightless reindeer anyway.

Ten years later, after no contact with any of the other reindeer, Izuku returns to the North Pole out of curiousity. He enters the code (given by his mother) and the veil lifts to allow him in.
Katsuki and his team, Kirishima, Denki and Sero are in their deer forms.

Izuku would recognize Katsuki anywhere with his ash blonde fur and startling red eyes. He now has full horns on top of his head and Izuku feels himself blush. Kacchan is as amazing as ever.

He is the most powerful as he takes off almost with a blast, Kirishima at his side as they pull their practice sleigh loaded with bags of sand in perfect loops and circles through the sky.

As they executive a perfect delivery and landing, Izuku can’t help but clap in excitement. He hasn’t watched a sleigh landing in a decade and it’s always a thrill.
The sound catches the attention of the other reindeer practicing nearby and suddenly he is surrounded.
“Izuku?

Is that you?”
“Wow, nice horns bud.”
“Who knew that scrawny little buck would grow up so big and powerful?”
Izuku blushes and rubs the back of his neck.

Yes he had bulked up over the years, spending most of his time in human form, shifters weren’t looked upon fondly in the cities, even if his horns made it clear what he was. He had learned to defend himself and grew strong and powerful.


“What’s this?” Katsuki shifts to human form and walks over with a smirk, not even bothering to cover his naked now human form.

“Wah—- H-how are you!? That was incredible! You’re the best! Are you guys going to guide the sleigh tonight?” Izuku babbles to cover his nerves.

Kacchan is all grown up and so handsome!
“Tch. Still a nerd I see.” Katsuki smirks. “But no, the old guard still wants a go. One of these days those old farts will know it’s time to let the real flyers take over.”
Izuku lets out a genuine laugh.

It’s nice to talk to Kacchan without the teenage drama in the way. Maybe they can be friends again. If Kacchan can look past Izuku being flightless.
Katsuki can’t believe his eyes. This buff, freckled dream is nerdy Deku?

He stands a good foot below Katsuki but his body is pure muscle. He has a stunning set of antlers sprouting out of his thick curly green hair. Katsuki finds himself suddenly not caring at all that Deku was flightless. Why did it matter so much when they were young?

At the time he somehow felt it was contagious. What a crazy thought.
“Hey, nerd. Have you been in touch with anyone from the Pole?” Katsuki doubts it, nobody has mentioned his name since.

Katsuki hates to admit he weirdly missed the little nerd following him around and worshipping him.
Izuku flushes. “Nah, there wasn’t any point. I can’t guide a sleigh and I know that made you all hate me so...”
Katsuki coughs. “I’m sorry I was a shithead fawn.

Let me make it up to you, there’s a development here that I want to share with you. But you can’t freak out.” he laughs and Izuku laughs with him. It sounds like a sleigh bell ringing and melts the remaining ice around Katsuki’s heart.
“We have to go see... him.”

he says solemnly.
“Santa Might? Oh no, no, no, Kacchan, I can’t. The last time I saw him he told me I could
never guide his sleigh and I cried for two days straight.”
“Well. He was wrong.” Katsuki says flatly.
“Huh? Kacchan, I can’t fly.”

“Just follow me!” Katsuki grins and they head to Santa’s stables.
“I need you to shift, nerd.”
Izuku giggles. He feels shy to transform
in front of Katsuki.
“Turn around Kacchan.”

he says, removing his “North Pole Shirt” shirt and tossing it to the ground along with his candy cane boxers and tight jeans. Katsuki takes a peek at Izuku and gulps at the perfect specimen.

Izuku lets out a whinny, and his body slowly takes the form of a small but rippled with muscles buck, covered in soft green pelt with speckles of brown. He turns large green eyes to Katsuki and lowers his horns
respectfully.
Katsuki snorts, and says “Follow me, dork.”

They enter Santa Might’s chambers and they both bow.
Santa gasps. “Izuku, my boy! i can’t believe you’re back. We missed you so much!”
“H-huh?” gasps Izuku. “You missed *me* ?”
“Yes; and felt terrible how we left things. Especially since the discovery of Float.”

“Float?” asks Izuku curiously.
“It’s a concentrate made from glacier ice and aurora borealus crystals. In a nutshell, it makes reindeer shifters float.”
Katsuki is smirking proudly and says “Let’s give Deku some.”

Before he knows it, Izuku is ingesting some of the concoction and then he feels himself slowly rising up to the ceiling.
“Kacchan!” he squeaks and Katsuki kicks off with his legs and flies over to Izuku.
“I got you.”

He says softly and nuzzles against Izuku’s side, gently touching antlers together. Both have a red glow under their fur.
After the flying/ floating session Izuku is getting ready to go home.

As he quickly gets dressed and ready to return to human life, Santa suddenly comes barreling to them. “Emergency!! The Pro team and the sidekicks are all sick with food poisoning.”
“I told them it wasn’t a good idea to eat Denki’s cooking. Those idiots.” mutters Katsuki.

“There’s no option. Katsuki and Izuku, i need you two to guide my sleigh tonight.”
“I was born for it.” Katsuki says at the same time Izuku says “Why me?”
“You’re literally all there is. Besides, anyone can see you’re going to make a fantastic Wonder Duo.


Izuku and Katsuki, won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?”
Izuku blushes even more fiercely than he thought was possible and Katsuki growls, which makes izuku giggle and scratch him behind the ears.
“That’s cheating, shitty Deku.”

— that just earns Katsuki another giggle - and a side cuddle. Damn it!
That night, all of the North Pole gathers to watch the Wonder Duo take flight with Santa Might.

Nobody knows what to expect... but what they witness is the most beautiful Christmas delivery the world has ever seen. The two reindeer fly as one to each rooftop with Santa working his magic and delivering the toys

They are a well-oiled machine and it’s like they’ve been together years.
After the big show, they shift back to human to hang out with the crew. Kacchan squishes right up against Izuku in the North Pole movie room and cuddles him in.

They watch video footage from around the world and all the ill reindeer lying on blankets ooh and ahh at their amazing deliveries.
“Damn right, we’re the best!” Katsuki shouts, grabbing Izuku in an overly tight squeeze. Izuku blushes a little and snuggles against him.

“Why don’t you stay?” Katsuki says without thinking. “What’s there in the big city?”
“Nothing.” Izuku admits. “My dream is to be here and doing this and now it can come true.”
“Cool.” Katsuki says, blushing and staring at the screen.

Izuku points up to the ceiling at the mistletoe chandelier and gives Katsuki a little kiss on the cheek. Everyone hoots and hollers as Katsuki kisses him back on the mouth.
“Merry Christmas, nerd.” Katsuki whispers.

Louder he yells “And to all you shitty extras, goodnight!”
