What if one night Deku and Katsuki separately, on their day off, decide to go out for dinner by themselves.

They don't mean to run into each other, really they just each feel cooped up in their apartments. Hero work keeps them insanely busy - so when they have a day
off... it throws them off.

Going out to dinner by themselves seemed like a nice treat - not having to dirty any dishes after all the cleaning they probably would have done on a day off.

Izuku is just walking into the restaurant when Katsuki notices him; of course he had
stopped and held the door open for the family that was a few steps behind him. Katsuki chuckled as he saw Izuku fluster and bumble as each member thanks him.

"Oi, Deku!" Katsuki calls when he finally makes it inside the restaurant.

Izuku breaks out into a shocked smile
"Kacchan! What are you doing here?" Izuku asks as he makes his way to Katsuki standing next to the hostess stand.

They share a few words, tell each other they came alone - to eat dinner out as a rare treat.

Its only a few moments before the hostess walks up
and asks, "Table for two?"

Katsuki and Izuku share a look, a split second decision is made and Katsuki shrugs, looking back at the woman, "Yeah, why not?"

Dinner ends up being much nicer than either of them had anticipated.

Instead of a quiet night, enjoying food they
didn't have to cook themselves, they end up spending it with great company; their discussion is light and comfortable, surprisingly so. A far cry from the bickering and arguing of their youth.

They both feel the easy with which they enjoy each other's company, and before they
know it, the wine has all been drank, and their food has all been eaten.

When the bill arrives, Izuku is quick to snatch it up; citing it as his thanks for spending an evening with him unexpectedly.

Katsuki reluctantly stops his attempts to grab the bill out of Izuku's hands.
"Fine, you have the honour of paying for the expensive wine I ordered." Katsuki's smile is mischievous, while Izuku looks a little shocked.

The price is really nothing compared to what they each make, but the light banter makes Izuku's chest feel airy.

"Of course, Kacchan."
Katsuki and Izuku's apartments were close enough to each other's they decided to walk together; the warm evening aiding in their decision.

It didn't take long to reach Izuku's apartment, the steady flow of their conversation distracting them until they found themselves
standing outside the front doors of Izuku's apartment; the cool light of the lobby shining through the wide panel glass doors.

Izuku fiddles with his keys in his pocket, thumbing over the jagged edges of his building key, "Tonight was nice, Kacchan. Thank you."
"Yeah, I didn't expect it, but I had a really good time too," Katsuki moves closer towards Izuku, "Gotta love an unexpected date."

Izuku's eyes quickly find Katsuki's, much closer than he expected, "Wah-cchan! This wasn't a date..." blush rapidly appears across
Izuku's cheeks, "Was it?"

Katsuki can see the confusion swimming in Izuku's emerald eyes, it makes him chuckle

"Well, we went to dinner together, you paid... and I walked you home," his shoulders shrug high, "Sounds like a date, doesn't it?"
Izuku can see the playful glint in Katsuki's eyes; its obvious that he has decided it was a date, and is just waiting until Izuku catches on, and starts playing along.

"I guess it does."

"Its just missing one thing."

"What's that, Kacchan?" Izuku's voice is soft, as he
takes a tentative step closer to Katsuki.

It's Katuski, however, that closes the distance between the two, brining his hand up to cup the side of Izuku's blush warmed cheek, and place a chaste kiss against his lips.

It's short and sweet, but the heat Izuku feels from the
firm press of Katsuki's lips has his heart hammering in his chest.

All too soon, the kiss is over and Katsuki has pulled away. Izuku immediately misses the warmth that had surrounded him, and wants to pull him back in and never let go; but Katsuki is already too far
away for his arms to reach.

"Next time, I get to pay for our date! Okay Nerd?" Katsuki calls as he walks backwards, hands in his pockets and a happy hop in his steps.

"Its only a date if I get a kiss at the end!"

"Oh trust me, Deku!" Katsuki calls down from further down
the road, "You're mine now! I don't plan to stop kissing you!"

Izuku is left to stand alone in front of his apartment, blushing like mad while his Kacchan screams about kissing him in the middle of the empty sidewalk.
