Parallel concept found in Pledis Universe : After School, Nu'est, Seventeen, Pristin

Part 1 - Color of the Sky

Pledis name was originally taken from star cluster "Pleiades"

Pleiades is located near ecliptic in the constellation of Taurus. Since its near ecliptic its heliacal rising and setting was used in ancient time as a sign that seasons are changing (cont-)

Located in the Northern Hemisphere, when Pleiades rises near dawn, its a sign the beginning of spring. The next time we see it appear to rises after sunset, means its the end of autumn.

That explains why Pledis chose their groups' official colors with sunset and dawn sky color

Pleiades as a sign of season changing are also the reason why season setting is important to understand pledis groups storyline thru their mvs.

the seasons where Pleiades rises in dawn (spring-autumn) is lively, while in winter its dark, as everyone fall into deep sleep

(however it seems like pledis had not fully tried the "seasonal" concept for after school. they started it with nuest, and later on svt. for pristin i would say /bitterly/ they actually planned the seasonal concept but now we wont get any since they're disbanded)

Part 2 - Pleiades myths as groups "behind the story"

Pleiades has several version of story in mythology and folklore/literature. These story versions/etymology apparently gave a bit influences as Pledis groups' "behind the story"

-Greek (myth): Pleiades is 7 sisters who turned into stars. After School, eventho they had 11 members, they're sisters turned to "stars" (idols)
-Greek (etymology): Pleiades comes from Peleiades means flock of doves. This fits Pristin, beauties who seek for their own freedom

In a literature, Pleiades came from 6 brothers who rescued a princess. she's unable to choose one brother she likes the most so God made 7 of them pass out in their sleep n turns them into stars.

This just like Nu'est and their Queen (if we count Nu'est M they r technically 6!)

Pleaides in Greek mythology (as explained before) is 7 sisters turned into stars, the daughters of Atlas and Pleione. Pleione is the sailing queen, making Pleaides the sailing ones

Thus, Seventeen takes "sailing" as their story concept, as sailing = living the "journey"

Between all 4 groups, Nu'est and Seventeen (Nuventeen) constantly show us that they live in parallel worlds

As Pleiades heliacal rising is also used as navigation for sailing, both Nuventeen show us how they also follow their "own" navigation (compass) for their journey

They also share the same concepts of : living in dream world when it comes to winter and both treat their story as a one continuous journey.

Nu'est represent night time (as they fall into dream world), and Seventeen represent day time. And Heaven, is their "meeting point"

Part 3 - Royal Family

Pledis artists values the family bond between them. Their creative team then brings their bond into a one concept : Pledis Artists as a part of Royal Family

Royal Family members are known not only for their dignity and nobility, but also the ability to protect the kingdom.

AS who "march" the band (marching band origins: to give basic commands to soldiers), Nu'est as Queen's knight, Seventeen as young soldiers and (cont-)

for Pristin, I'm pretty sure they prepared a concept for Pristin but we havent figure it out because... you know...

i'll explain later about this

Pledis shows the royal family notation in their mvs, and one of them is emphasizing "chandelier"

chandeliers represents the essence of light, wealth and power. a kind of "sun" that royal family have.

but before you can be the "chandelier", you have to be another kind of "sun"

do u ever think why pledis put so many lamps in their mvs, even in a unnecessary places like an outdoor tennis court?

this is one of way how pledis show the journey of pledis groups before they can hit big as how the "chandelier" could be

this sounds silly but after a talk with an art director i found out this "lamp theory"

lamp represents development, reassurance, and impact. if we connect this to their mvs: the bigger the lamp, the more "fancy" it is, the bigger their development and impact as a group

now we can see the journey of nuest.. through their mvs, they started with neon lights, street lamps, and they finally get the chandelier.

but their chandelier broke, they were once fallen knights. they were starting again with neon lights, till they finally get 5 chandeliers

im pretty sure pledis creative team were originallt preparing the same concept for pristin. i can see how they prepare the girls as they will get more mature they'll finally get their "chandelier" and claim a higher role in the royal family
