congrats to all the young people but can we also give a massive shout-out to the older women in tech who have survived all the bullshit and are STILL AROUND it’s like hunger games survival skills to still be here after 10, 20, 30+ years

i made it to 10 years in tech this year!! in my first year ft, there was a stretch where i was crying myself to sleep every night wondering why everything was so hard. i loved software engineering but i hated the environment. also didn’t know if i had any other marketable skills

being told “there’s no sexism, it’s only because you think there’s sexism that you’re projecting it around you” wasn’t super helpful when i was young and naive and didn’t have any idea what the concept of gaslighting was. but now i know!!
