Bakugou Katsuki is a pro hero. He's almost number one, already been in the top ten since barely the start of his hero career. He's saved countless lives and caught dozens of villains. All in all, he's fucking amazing. Then why the fuck was he busy saving a fucking cat!?!?!
He should've been patrolling the streets and looking out for any villain activity and yet, here he stood, at the base of a tree, looking up at one fat black cat staring down at him. Katsuki simply huffed and placed his hands on his hips.
If it had been his choice, he wouldn't be standing here. He would've sent a sidekick or some other extra to deal with it, but his PR team said it'd be good for his image. Not that anyone was actually watching him. Good for his image, as if.
Still, Katsuki wasn't one to half ass anything. With the cat showing absolutely no signs of moving whatsoever, only pitifully meowing at him from above, Katsuki made it his mission to bring it down safely. Whether it was human or animal, he had something to save after all.
His Quirk wasn't made for delicate movements like climbing a fucking tree, nor did he think it would be a good idea to set off his explosions anyway. If the cat got scared, it would've been even harder to clean up the mess.
So, with all the finesse of a sixhundred pound bear, Katsuki started making his way up. He swung his leg over the branch that the cat was sitting on, who instead of being grateful only hissed in return at him.
Katsuki rolled his eyes. "I'm here to help you, so lose the attitude," he said, though the remark fell on deaf ears. Slowly, he inched his way closer to the cat, who in turn backed away as much as it could. Things really weren't in his favor today.
When he was finally within reach, he stretched his arm out to grab the thing by the scruff of its neck. Katsuki grit his teeth when sharp claws scratched his skin, small droplets of blood seeping from the cut. He suckled on the wounds to relieve the pain, before he glared.
"You're coming fucking down with me, whether you like it or not!" Katsuki said, before reaching out once more and grabbing the cat. It hissed again, though Katsuki was quick to tuck it under his arm and scale down the tree as fast as he could.
The cat was thrashing in his hold, though Katsuki was determined to put it down on the ground safely. That cats /could/ land on all fours, doesn't mean they should from ten feet high. As soon as both his feet were on the ground, he intended to release it, though he was~
distracted by someone calling out to him.

"Ground Zero!"

Katsuki looked up and saw someone running towards him, their arms outstretched. He grimaced and took a step back, not in the mood for any fanboys while he was still holding the animal.
"I'm still busy with a rescue operation," he answered boldly, already turning to put the cat down. Instead, the other - man, it turned out to be - shook his head.

"I'm so sorry! I actually meant my uh- I meant my- my cat," the man stuttered, pointing at the cat.
Katsuki raised a questioning eyebrow. "Your cat is called... Ground Zero?"

The man, who had wild green curls and deep, dark green eyes, started to flush entirely red. His hands were fidgeting with his sweater as he looked down.

"Ye-yeah."
Katsuki looked down at the thrashing cat still in his arms and back at the man standing before him, before extending his arms and transferring the cat over to its owner.

"T-thank you so much!" the man exclaimed, a bright smile on his face which made his eyes sparkle.
Katsuki would never admit it, but that smile made even his cheeks redden a little. "It's no problem. Why was your cat in there anyway?"

The man scratched his cheek. "She likes to run out of my apartment and explore. She isn't much of an indoor cat."
"She!?" Katsuki exclaimed. "Your cat is a girl and you called her Ground Zero?"

"Yeah!" the man said excitedly. "I mean, even if she's a girl, I only wanted to name her after the most amazing hero I know."
Katsuki looked at the other man who was cooing at the feline, his cheeks feeling hot as he looked away and coughed. "Well, I better head out for the rest of my patrol. You better keep her in your apartment because I'm not a hero to keep saving cats."
"I know!" the other man said. "I'm so sorry that you had to rescue her for me! Thank you so much! If there's anything I can do to return the favor, p-please let me know!"

Katsuki raised an eyebrow, his signature smirk appearing on his face. "Anything?"

"Anything!"
"Well, first of all, you could tell me your name-"

"Izuku! Midoriya Izuku!" he said excitedly, still stroking Ground Zero's fur absentmindedly.

"And secondly, you could thank me by buying me dinner. Let's say tonight at seven?"
And that's the story of how Katsuki and Izuku start dating after Katsuki rescued Izuku's cat from a tree. Ground Zero - the cat - still occasionally slips out the front door, though this time there are two people on her trail to bring her back home. The end <3
