As my brilliant wife points out, BC is looking at land occupancy with a lens measured in less that 150 years & the Nuchatlaht People are looking at the same land in a lens 13,000years long across many seasons and over a long range of climatic change.

How can you reconcile this disparity?

You can't. What is clear to me is that BC and their lawyers are using a false flag argument that is impossible to support either logically or morally. As for confining the People to a reserve. Who did dat? Why Canada!!!! That's who.

Quite clearly #UNDRIP legislation in BC was simply a token empty gesture or this case would be closed and withdrawn.

I wonder how badly @UBCIC feels after supporting this legislation that is doing nothing for their collective Peoples.

And this brings me to another story from this morning. My friend @KarlDockstader was at the OPP detachment in Cayuga to be fingerprinted and get a mug shot for the crime of being a reporter reporting on another Canadian injunction against Indigenous People protecting their land.

Racism and apartheid in Canada is even more vile and oppressive than the South African example. At least there you would be documented and "coloured, Zulu man, from Soweto Township.

Here you are forced to renounce your citizenship by claiming either American or Canadian citizenship.

That's some fucking #Reconciliation when you can't be identified by the state as an Indigenous member of a First Nation. IT underscores how deep and stinky the settler bullshit flows.
