Went to get some packages for work (*-to-door services are available, but not particularly popular here). A central delivery station, usually very busy... well, still is very much busy. It's a main hub for cargo of all sizes, so as one can imagine, there is a lot of traffic here.
Went in. Shit load of men, mostly local small enterprisers... all in masks, all standing few feet apart. No one there to enforce the rules, really... A small natural habitat of epidemiological discipline, so to speak.
None of these men are leftist liberal snowflakes. So why the masks and social distancing, one might ask? Because they have neither time, nor money to be sick. Spending time in hospital bed or at home in self-quarantine is a luxury they simply cannot afford.
So the point of this thread is my inability to understand this idiotic, overly politicized resistance to simple epidemiological measures I keep seeing, mostly from people in US and UK? Since when being smart and careful became a political act?
