Huge credit to @lawrencefelic. So difficult landing stories like this - amazing work.
You just know what the Guardian has been able to report is the tip of the iceberg. We will ask our lawyers to take a look and see if we can show you more. But much more difficult when it is a sub-contract.
One of the immensely frustrating things about the NAO reports (and there are many) is that it does not seem to have looked much beyond the cases @GoodLawProject had already uncovered. Were they trying to uncover corruption? Or just appear to be doing so?
When you know an area really well, which I do now, you pick up the faintest scent of something wrong. But three of the four PPE cases we took were in June/July. We had no real insight then. And in each of those three cases we and the NAO found wrongdoing.
So there will be dozens or hundreds more out there including, I have no doubt at all, stories of rank corruption. The NAO won't look unless someone else unearths them. And you and I will be left to wonder at the lavish lifestyles of those who once pretended to be public servants.
