Why Lana’s next album should be/is country (a thread)
Lana has mentioned repeatedly through her Interview with interview mag and through a recent live video, that her upcoming album had a folk sound to it.
This album is rumored to have a feature with her long time, country singing friend, Nikki Lane.

This rumor was made when Lana said during a small performance that a song called “breaking up slowly” with Nikki would be on her next record.
Lana has also recently followed three country musicians these past few months while she was finishing her album Chemtrails Over The Club. Including country legend George Strait.
Lana’s inspiration for the album came from her touring the south and midwestern states where country/folk is a very popular genre. Possibly why she would want to make the album sound like that.
In Let Me Love You Like Woman, the common theme is love, and wanting to leave the big city, and go back to a small town. Those themes are extremely common and LMLYLAW being a promotional single would be giving us insight to what Chemtrails would sound or be about.
Next, Lana would benefit greatly from a country album. Lana has proven to be a trailblazer for women in dark/alt pop. Lana could continue this legacy into the country genre which my popular opinion hasn’t been the greatest recently. Lana could be an inspection to many new girls.
Lana’s fanbase would also be expanded. Lana’s true fans have seen her move through genre and genre in each of her masterful albums. So there’s no doubt she would lose her already huge base when experimenting in this genre.
If lana does nail powerhouse collabs like George Strait, She could very easily become a huge influence in that genre. Which would bring a new class of female country singers and revive the genre for good.
All in all, Lana doing a country album would only continue to solidify her as a legend, and as one of the best songwriters, the most versatile and overall greatest artist alive.
