Thanksgiving story time!

With my first big paycheck from 227 I went out and bought a car.. a Mercedes-Benz 190E.

I pulled up on the lot the next day and Hal Williams, who played Lester, looked DISGUSTED! He said, “Girl, that’s a toy. Take that back and get yourself a real car. You’re a star now!”

So that’s what I did. I replaced it with a White Jaguar.

A few months later, I decided to drive my sister and myself across country to New York to spend Thanksgiving with our family.

Well.. somewhere in Iowa I made a wrong turn and came up on the curb and we got STUCK.

Luckily, the people in Iowa were very friendly. These five big guys PICKED UP THE CAR -with me and my sister in it- and put it right back on track!

We asked if we should get out and they said, “Not necessary.”

Well, honey, we made it to New York for Thanksgiving all because of the kindness of strangers. That’s something I’m very grateful for and something I hope we see a lot more of in the new year.

Oh, and this just goes to show that when I looked this good I could get picked up anywhere - literally!
