Small thread on canon in SW if you will indulge me

I hear a lot about how comics like adventures aren't really canon, or how the Lego stuff is canon adjacent (It happened but not as goofy as they show)...
And this is true, until it isn't...

The tone of characterization is consistent with canon depictions, it reinforces how they want us to see the story. Also what's canon and not changes on the slightest of whims.
Things will be canon for years then suddenly not (Kylo not being a sith for instance) and is usually based on what they think fans desire. Best example of this is Ilum, was that always going to be Stark*ller? Who knows, but fans like it so here's some hints.
Then Fallen Order confirms it. The trend continues, was Finn meant to have the force originally...Who knows, but fans want it so Canon!!!

Jannah being Lando's daughter? Is that what fans want?
Which brings me to the reason for this thread, Kylo Ren and his back and forth personality. In the hands of most writers the past few years a image of a conflicted villain took form someone on the side of evil but not committed.
But lately this has changed, the character reverted back to what fans expected of the character before the first film. Why? Well let's apply the logic above. They think it's what fans want. Which fans? The same ones they always do...
DUDES!!! Who Abhor subtext, want references galore and basic characterization over and over again.

In other words RPO, but seriously it alienates a lot of other fans but LF seems fine with this so whatever I guess.
