So...let& #39;s talk about this for a second:
First, thanks to @giniponder for bringing this to my attention. Second, I& #39;m sorry @moshpitmodell that that tweet upset you so. Last, I will not address the original poster here on my platform because I think they& #39;re trolling for attention w/ this.
But I want to use their tweet as a reminder for folks to keep their critical thinking skills sharp WITH ALL ASTROLOGERS AND ASTROLOGY, INCLUDING ME! I& #39;m not necessarily encouraging wholesale skepticism of astrology, but it& #39;s important to vet who says what & why.
So, before you freak out about or even celebrate what an astrologer says, it& #39;s always a good practice to ask them to say why they& #39;re saying what& #39;s spoken if they don& #39;t do so from the start. If they can& #39;t or dismiss it with jokes, then no need to take it seriously.
They could just be an account of someone who has a rudimentary understanding of astrology and just likes to start shit. Or who likes the feeling of knowing something that others putatively may not know. But that doesn& #39;t mean they know anything.
The other thing, as @giniponder, asked: what are the possible intentions for their tweets, especially if they& #39;re dramatic? The tweet mentioned above is not informative, because there& #39;s nothing given for what informs the statement.
Similarly, astrology should be used to guide. What& #39;s the guidance behind telling someone OR A WHOLE DAMN SET OF SIGNS that they& #39;re going to have a worse year than what has already proven a difficult year for many, irrespective of the sign.
I suspect to gain a dopamine rush of social media driven power and panic, not a sense of compassion that should compel and direct any astrologer. But many astrologers want to be right, about anything, more than they dare to love or even be loved.
I once read a story about how Lord Shiva cursed an Indian astrologer who was like this. Astrology doesn& #39;t give you the powers of a god. At best, as a divinatory tool, it gives you insight from the gods or the workings of the Cosmos.
Ask any astrologer who has gotten a prediction wrong. And, oh, that would be ALL OF THEM! The goal is just to be wrong less often. As for the original poster, they& #39;re probably too young, stupid or drunk on their own sauce to know this.
So, if you read tweets, see videos, or read predictions that are dire, give a listen as to why they& #39;re saying that and entertain the possibility that they can also be wrong, especially if it& #39;s an astrologer without a long track record.
And remember to breathe. It& #39;s also okay to cross check with other astrologers you know and trust and ask them about the tweet or statement, as long as it& #39;s not about your own personal chart. You likely need to pay them for that.
