first off, i want to start by saying i’m not directing this towards any one person or any one fandom. i am a solo harrie, yes, but i’m not trying to start a fan war. i just want you to put that aside and read this without any preconceived ideas bc it’s important.

one of the main arguments as to ‘harry styles

’ (we’ll get to why that’s wrong in a sec) is jeff’s management of harry. people love to claim that jeff is power hungry and controlling harry’s every move. let me explain jeff’s management to you.

full stop management manages multiple artists including travis scott, gwen stefani, and john mayer. you say jeff controls harry so why would he not do the same to them?? why would this only be a tactic for harry specifically?

jeff and harry have been friends way before jeff was ever his manager. this obviously gives jeff incentive to CARE about harry and want the best for him as a person.

now, the comparisons to syco. stop. jeff isnt simon. ur taking your experiences from watching 1d and have become obsessed w the narrative of control, acting like PR majors. you act like harry can’t think for himself and that just because he changes, it means he’s being forced to.

here’s an interview with jeff last year talking about harry, calling him a unicorn and recognizing what harry needs most in order to be comfortable enough to write. he knows harry. he knows what harry needs. he provides it

many artists don’t use social media. look at lorde for example, she hasn’t posted anything since april 2018. ALMOST THREE YEARS AGO yet she still connects w her fans

claiming that harry is a brand now because he made changes that benefit him is so disgusting and you shouldn’t be a fan if you’re gonna say shit like that. the ‘harry styles’ that you “know” was a boy who grew up in a boy band where he had minimal creative liberties+

+wear a dress on the cover of vogue? why does he get to wear skirts? wave pride flags? speak so openly about love and kindness and acceptance? so are you saying jeff is forcing him to say those things? your narrative can’t be one sided. if jeff forces him off social media+

+that means he has control over harry’s social media and appearances. meaning everything harry has done that’s out of his comfort zone, including wearing the dress, has been bc of jeff....so

i don’t know about you but as i get older, i change. like a human being. harry is not 16. he’s almost 27 years old now.

stop acting like you know him better than he knows himself and like you have to protect him. just stop talking about things you don’t know. trust that+

+harry can make his own decisions based on what’s best for him. if he didn’t like jeff or jeff wasn’t good for him, he would fire him.

it’s not one direction anymore. they were under a group contract and it was harder for them to get out, yes. but if it was so binding+
