Like, if politicians are unwilling to follow their own public health guidance, they should pause and think about whether the guidance is reasonable. And if they conclude it is reasonable, maybe they should then follow it.

If the guidance is necessary not for its private benefits but for its public benefits -- where the thing being advised against is not actually that unsafe to the individual but has negative broader effects -- then it's especially important for officials to model compliance.
