Congrats Tāmaki Makaurau, you saved 7 Billion litres of water. So we just voted that from December 14th you will be able to use outdoor houses but ONLY if it’s handheld with a trigger nozzle. This means you can also use a water blaster.
Our reservoirs are now at 72.48% full. We are not out of the woods yet, as our dams should be holding about 91% at this time of year. So we still need voluntary water saving and you cannot use things like outdoor sprinklers.
Due to the record breaking drought, if we start using record amounts of water again we could go back into restrictions, so this is a continuous effort needed from all of us.

Our emergency infrastructure, almost complete which has allowed has to gain an extra 40m litres per day.
This includes 25 more from the Waikato, with the other 15 coming from the Hays Creek, Onehunga and Hickey Springs Bores.

50 million litres more comes on stream from the Waikato in June, which will give us a back up if we need it.
Many cities in NZ have yearly restrictions to manage their water supply. We need to continue to save water to make sure we conserve our supply.

Thank you for all your efforts. It’s been huge in an already difficult year for all of you.
