In order to understand the exploding number of publications on #COVID19 / #SARSCoV2, I took the liberty to continue the brilliant calculations by @MichaelDavid80 . 1/7 https://twitter.com/MichaelDavid80/status/1326253900014342144
Thus, we’ve “known” about 326 days #COVID19 / #SARSCoV2 for 326 days. This leaves us with an impressive 228,28 papers published per day - or 9,5 papers per hour! 4/7
To put that in perspective: Should you decide to read all publications, and use 20 minutes for each (highly exaggerated), you’d have to read for 2,83 years. Or more *realistic*, using 40 hours per week, you’d have to read for 12 years. 5/7
Now, assuming you wanted to print all papers, and that each paper is 6 pages long. This would leave you with 446.520 pages to print. Laying this page by page would stretch over 132,6 km. Lying them in a larger square would result in 27849 m2, or close to 4 full soccer fields. 6/7
If that wasn’t enough of exercise: Should you decide to stable your 446.520 pages of print, you would end up with a paper pile with the impressive height of 44,7 metres! Good night - and good luck! 7/7
