Seen a few mentions of Cocu tonight. Some absolutely conflicting thoughts below.
- Cocu assembled this side over three windows.
- Cocu almost never got this side playing.
- This side struggled massively before Rooney

BUT

- Wayne Rooney wasn't a Cocu signing. #dcfc
Cocu and his coaching team have to take their share of the blame. The squad assembled is an absolute mishmash right now and they simply have no idea how they are meant to play. That was ingrained from over a year of not learning from repetitive mistakes.
There was a desperate cry for a new forward line. Waghorn is not a lone striker and Lawrence has always struggled for consistency. Not addressing this in the summer and matching a forward or two to his style of play is what spelt the end of Cocu and its why we are 24th

However.
Derby County are in danger of losing their identity. For all of the attention the world has given Derby with Lampard, Rooney and Ashley Cole, we are absolutely lost right now as to our position in this footballing world. We've veered from what makes this club.
Derby County supporters do not want Hollywood signings. We want effort. We want people we can relate to. We want to see people like us fighting for that shirt. And we most of all want to feel connection with those wearing them. And right now, that isn't there.
It's desperate, desperate times. Huge change is AGAIN needed at this club. I hope and pray that we get out of this and can return to what this club is. #dcfc is there to be at the heart of the community, and right now, it is not. We need to find our identity again.
Because right now, relegation isn't the big threat we're facing. Well it is, but the real big threat is turning supporters against the club.

We need simplicity. We've desperately needed it for years now. Because this is a low which, without realising, was almost inevitable.
I'm off for a beer. Keep the faith. đź‘Š
