In the spirit of a @DrewHolden360 🧵, let’s dig into @DrEricDing holier than thou tweet. As someone who loves Aviation, something stuck me about this. 50% of aviation traffic are cargo jets...During a non-pandemic. This narrative is 💩. I’ll show you why 🤨 https://twitter.com/drericding/status/1331365749772984333
So @nowthisnews is using @flightradar24 and has access to all filters. Now a real journalist would filter out the cargo planes, and probably notate the fact that many passenger planes also carry a lot of cargo, to make up for the passengers. This is last Christmas, Passenger only
Here is FedEx, UPS, and part of Amazon’s fleet live.
Here is @SpiritAirlines pretty light for their 737’s
Here is just 767, again mostly Cargo.
This is the 787, these are partially cargo and international flights.
Passenger travel is down 70% YoY, one google search shows you this. Even for the day shown in their map, from the TSA site.
So Air Traffic is 70/30 Cargo to Passenger.
Also included on their map are private planes, gliders, and commuter jets.

I’d say people are taking #COVID19 seriously, and I fucking hate mendacity from bluechecks 🤨
