okay so we all know about that mario 35th tourney coming up dec 5th, right? (1/?)

i looked at the backdrops for each of the characters on the image and classified them under which colors they were. (plant might be green in retrospect but still looks kinda cyan to me, idfk i'm dumb)

something i noticed after a while of looking is that the only color suspiciously missing is purple. seems kinda weird since its one of the most prominent colors and is also heavily associated with certain characters from the mario franchise, most notably, of course...

perhaps it's finally waluigi time. he's been a gargantuan request even in the mainstream to the point where nintendo (specifically reggie) outright said that sakurai would be aware of the demand for him, and we all know how sakurai can be about fanservice

could be someone entirely different (eg. king boo, maybe even vivian who knows lmao). i just thought this was interesting and while unlikely is a fun idea at least for me.

or maybe i'm just crazy, i dunno. probably the latter.
