Just because a medication works for someone, does not mean it will work for you

Just because a medication does not work for someone, does not mean it will not work for you
It can be dangerous to go down the route of asking everyone which specific brand/drug worked best for them, and making decisions informed solely by this.
Equally, if someone tells you & #39;omg this drug messed me up it& #39;s so awful you must never take it& #39;, then that& #39;s unhelpful advice that could stop you trying a potentially really useful treatment.
The most common medication that would be prescribed for OCD with the strongest evidence base is a class of antidepressant called Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors (SSRIs for short).
In some cases, a different type of antidepressant, or an additional antipsychotic, may be prescribed.
