i think my break is over? maybe? perhaps?

the crowdfund is still closed. i'm boosting requests and dassit. i came here cuz i wanna share something with y'all.
in this most recent surge of "i care about Black people" performances, there is a real fake ass sense of urgency from the purported supporters.
there are so many reparations-focused groups on FB, accounts on IG that post folks' requests ... if y'all are really about that action, why are Black people asking you for anything? why aren't you asking us where to send the money?
as many times as i have boosted requests of people *across demographics,* i see a pattern of folks ignoring a request (which, if you wait long enough, it becomes begging) and only acting when they feel activated by their guilt.
i'm asking, with all sincerity: how the fuck does this change the power differentials that oppress Black folks and other marginalized people?
ppl in need: here's my info, can someone help?
monied person: wow who do i help where do i send the money let me ask shaun king
ppl in need: i have been asking for $500 for the last 3 weeks. in another week i'm gonna need double that because i haven't had help.
monied ppl: omg wow let me help you this one time!
that's not reparations. it's a one-time contribution.
IMO, reparations should be reflected in a universal basic income for Black ppl GLOBALLY, at the very least.
which begs the question, IMO, why the fuck aren't y'all just choosing someone to help *regularly*? like, make a 6 or 12 month commitment to give someone $300 or whatever every two weeks, as you're able to afford it?
i'm not launching anyone's pilot program.
i'm challenging y'all who say you want to give, for the following reasons: https://twitter.com/dopegirlfresh/status/1322936660158545920?s=20
being activated by your guilt, which is a *feeling* that won't last, isn't a sustainable means of resource redistribution. it is not. it's nice. it feels good for y'all but when i give away that last $50 from the pot what else is there?
so. i'm telling y'all directly to PAY PEOPLE REGULARLY. you can afford $50 every paycheck? give that to somebody, once you've covered all your expenses. if you can afford $10 a week, bby, this thread is not about you giving. it's about you receiving.
because a good chunk of what's owed -- especially to Black people across the planet -- is owed by governments and corporations.
do you work for wells fargo? you make big bank? PAY THAT TO SOME BLACK FOLKS.
