There are a lot of names missing from those lists about who writes about Appalachia. They may talk about Black people but notice if they lift up Black folks work, if Black folks get positions, if Black folks get passed the mic. I'm going to drop some names:
William Isom ( https://www.blackinappalachia.org/ )
Enkeshi El-Amin ( @Soon2bDrElamin)
Mekyah Davis @mekyahd ( https://www.thestayproject.net/what-is-black-appalachian-young--rising.html)
Ash-Lee Woodard Henderson @_AshDashLee_ ( https://highlandercenter.org/ )

Ash-Lee Woodard Henderson @_AshDashLee_ ( https://highlandercenter.org/ )
And so many more. Workers, activists, writers, musicians, academics, everyday people. All their work could have been lifted up instead of all this writing against that book and film.
I mean, y'all published whole books against a book when y'all could have published books by Black people in and on Appalachia!!!!!!!!!!!!!
